I finally caught up with Atlanta native P.T. Stokes aka The Bad Boy of Gospel. It was honestly like catching up with family. The Gospel Spitter and The Bad Boy of Gospel is a renowned rhythm and gospel artist, director, writer, producer, and entertainer. Stokes, who has several accomplishments, struck gold by winning the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival’s Audience Choice Award with his directorial debut in 2015 with the music mini-film, Salvation RMX for Best Music Video. In 2016, he was named New Urban Hip Hop artist of the year by the Independent Christian Music Association. He followed that two years later with a nomination at the Madrid International Film Festival for Best Music Short. In 2019 his Praise the Maker won the Platinum Award at the NYC Indie Film Awards for Best Short Film. Lastly, but certainly not least, he also individually won the prestigious Silver Hattie Award at the Anaheim Film Festival for his short film on Praise the Maker as Best Inspirational Film. He had his first feature film appearance in the action thriller, Taken 3, and has also appeared in the television series Saints and Sinners, Born Again Virgin, and Fatal Attraction, to name a few. At 13, his family moved to Connecticut, where he attended Woodrow Wilson middle and Middletown High. He began singing at talent shows and at Christian work camps in conjunction with the church he attended, bringing the flavor of his music of choice, R & B. He was a chanter at Wheat Street Baptist Church and played handbells at Hillside Presbyterian Church. After high school, Stokes attended Ohio University, where he obtained a degree in marketing. He pens his own lyrics and boasts a six-octave range. Stokes is also the co-founder of the entertainment company, Serving the Peace, established in 2013. The company’s first business division is a rhythm and gospel label. Stokes debut project, “Raise Up,” was released in 2014. He also does voiceover work and writes, produces, and direct feature animation, which he also does for others. PT is a man that is genuinely after GOD’s own heart. His faith, focus and drive keep him on the path to prosperity, success, and peace. Ashante’ recently teamed up with Americares to support health workers and vulnerable families during this current pandemic. A Chicago native and now 13 year Atlanta transplant, he saw the need for additional healthy food options in the city of Hapeville outside of his already established success as a Smoothie King Owner/Franchisee of 4 locations including the location directly adjacent to Grub Fresh Bowls and Wraps. “I created Grub because I would spend hours looking for something quick and healthy to eat,” said Philip Jones, Grub Fresh Bowls & Wraps founder. “The lack of options made it challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle while working such a busy schedule. After years of frustration, I decided to recruit a classically-trained chef to help me take my passionate idea and create a solution that left me feeling satisfied and recharged.” Jones collaborated with Chef Kelley Hicks who has nearly two decades of industry experience to develop the menu. The two created non-traditional bowl and wrap options which change seasonally and all food is made in-house, from scratch with fresh ingredients. Guests can choose jasmine rice, brown rice and/or a flatbread wrap to accompany any menu item including: • Jerk Chicken Bowl (sautéed peppers and onions, pineapple salsa, mango jerk sauce, shaved lettuce) • Sweet and Spicy Salmon Bowl (edamame, shredded cabbage, green onions, sesame seeds, sweet chili, hericot vert) • Southwest Bowl (pico de gallo, black beans, roasted corn, green onions and cilantro, shaved lettuce) • Philly Cheesesteak Wrap • Buffalo Chicken Wrap • Grilled Veggie Wrap with spicy harissa. Chef Kelley Hicks knows that people love continental cuisine but still wanted to try new foods. She developed straight forward recipes for Grub that can all be tweaked to become vegetarian by simply omitting one or two items and substituting in more vegetable options. A vegan menu will also launch over the next six months. In this way, Grub accommodates all customer dietary needs easily with its scratch-made, healthy menu. Cooking since she was 7, she studied at Le Cordon Bleu and her wide-ranging experience includes being featured on The Food Network and working in five-star hotels, catering, fine dining and with celebrity private chef services. For the last 12 years, Jones has owned and operated four Smoothie King franchised locations around Atlanta. Understanding the needs and desires of his customers as well as the Hapeville traffic patterns and site specifics helped him develop a second food concept restaurant. Meditation is another thing that came very slowly for me. I'd pop one eye open and look around the room after my yoga class, and it seemed like everyone in the room "got it" except for me. One day I heard someone say meditation is all about breathing. So if you're breathing, you can meditate. It reminded me of a time when I tried Trinfinity 8, a complex system that had lasting, profound effects on my psyche. As quiet, meditative music played, and I watched fractals dance across the computer monitor, I held in each of my hands a crystal wand. I could feel both sides of my body, integrating for the first time in a long time. (Hence the reason we include two crystals with each candle.)
