This week has been rough. Damsel is in heat. She is waking us up every couple of hours with her crying. It is a hard sound to ignore. It got me thinking about sex ed. It seems my experiences are different than other peoples experience. I share some stories about sex education. Let me know what you think. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze ravelry forum: KnitWit:Rantings of a Rabid Knitter Forum Thanks. Some updates. Damsel is doing very well. Here are a couple of pictures of her. I tipped Dash the other day and trimmed her hooves. Ravelry is adding 500/day. I had my units wrong. Thank you, Bunnysquirrel, for letting me know. Today, I have several suggestions for keeping warm when you cannot afford to turn up the heat. If you have any other hints or suggestions please share. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze ravelry forum: KnitWit:Rantings of a Rabid Knitter Forum Thanks.  KnitWit 106: A Damsel in Distress | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:20:43

It has been one of the those weeks when all your plans are changed by a single chance meeting. Wayne and I came across a damsel in distress on Tuesday night on our way home. Things have been in upheaval every since. I talk all about it in this weeks show. Please, keep this little one in your heart.   Send her healing thoughts. I welcome your comments. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze ravelry forum: KnitWit:Rantings of a Rabid Knitter Forum Thanks.  KnitWit 105: Differences in Wool | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:09:09

This is the last show on wool. I talk about different classification and quality of wool. There are many different factors to consider if you are thinking about getting some sheep. For more details, check out Nola Fournier’s book, In Sheep’s Clothing: A Handspinner’s Guide to Wool. I have not decided on what will be the next fiber animal I am going to talk about. If you have a suggestion, drop me a line. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry approx. 9 minutes

 KnitWit 104: Nothing Special | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:15:51

Happy anniversary. Did you think we would make it this long? I have nothing to really talk about. I answer some questions concerning podcasting and previous shows. Also, I complain about the weather. I must also say that Dash is a complete clown when she sees the camera. Can you believe she is my pretty one? Tell me what you think. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry approx. 15 minutes

 KnitWit 103: Bunny Love | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:06:10

Warning: not kid or work safe. Wolfy fell in love with some rather odd objects. I tell you all about it in this weeks show. Next week will be our 2nd anniversary. Is there any thing special you would like me to talk about? Let me know. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry approx. 6 minutes

 KnitWit 102: Bunny Talk | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:06:28

I discuss an argument I had with Wolfy when he first came to live with us. I think it is important to speak their language. This is a great website (http://www.paperglyphs.com/rabbits/rabbittalk.html) with wonderful information on how rabbits communicate. What do you think? Am I completely wacky or what? website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry approx. 6 minutes

 KnitWit 101: Wolfy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:07:58

I tell the story of how Wolfy came to live with us.  He is a rather odd bunny.  With only a sample size of two, maybe the other rabbit is the strange one. Do you know which one is the weird one?  Or are they just individual in those ways? website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks.  KnitWit 100: Processing Wool for Spinning | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:18:54

This weeks show is a long, some what rambling, discussion of how to prepare wool for spinning. This is the video of the demo of using a picker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdEbEZq8vSg). Here is a picture of some of the tools used in the processing: a flicker, cards, and combs. Some wool at different stages: picked, roving, and combed top. Finally some yarn spun from different preparations. The dark brown was spun in the grease. The orange-red is woolen spun from roving. The blue sock yarn is spun worsted from merino top. Any questions or comments? I would love to hear from you. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry P.S. There is a small holiday present at the end of the show. approx. 19 minutes

 KnitWit 99: Oh, Deer | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:08:40

This has been a hard week. Wayne is out of town.  His mother is not doing well.  He is down with her. There are dogs circling the perimeter and I killed a deer. I hope your week went better. Any suggestions on how to clean my karma? website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com ravelry: autumnbreeze Thanks. Carry approx. 9 minutes

 KnitWit 98: Need vs. Want | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:09:26

There is a big difference between a need and a want.  Sometimes the lines seem to be blurred.  This is a particular pet peeve of mine.  Needs must be met before indulging in wants.  There is nothing wrong with wants.  I have lots of wants.  It is important to be able to recognize the differences.  There are things I need to do or need to have that I don’t particularly want to do.  I need to eat right.  I want to eat chocolate. What have been your experiences?  Or am I yet again out in left field? website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com Thanks. Carry approx. 9 minutes

 KnitWit 97: Sanctimonious Bitch | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:07:32

News: Knitting Daily Announces Yarn Spree Giveaway. Here is a chance to win a shopping spree at your local yarn store. I tell a story about a trip to the grocery store. Grocery shopping should not be so controversial in my opinion but then again that is just my opinion. What do you think? Who was the biggest hypocrite? website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com Thanks. Carry approx. 8 minutes

 KnitWit 96: Spud the Stud | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:05:02

This is a very short show this week.  I tell a story about my mother’s very special roaster, Spud. If you have any comments, questions, complaints, observation, random thoughts you would like to share please do. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com Thanks. Carry approx. 5 minutes

 KnitWit 95: Wool Beginnings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 0:08:49

Finally starting the discussion on wool.  It was hard for me to decide where to begin.  So I decided to start at the beginning. Sheep were domesticated over 10,000 years ago.  Can you just imagine how that happened?  I give you my version of one possible scenario. What do you think happened?   Please let me know. Or just drop me a line and let me know you are still there.  I have missed hearing from you. website: autumnbreezedesigns.com email: carry.autumnbreeze@gmail.com Thanks. Carry approx. 9 minutes
