Tonight we get caught up on Nirvana Jennette, she was our guest on the Silent Ban on Breastfeeding show . Then she was telling us about her church and how she had been asked to leave because she was nursing her baby in church! Emma Kwasnica is being harassed by Facebook (again) for posting photos of her nurslings. This despite Facebook's recent apology in the public media, saying this is against their policy.  Message from Emma, who cannot post out from her own page: I am blocked again. This time for THREE days. I had another photo reported and removed by Facebook overnight. "Sexually explicit" content. The photo that was flagged and deleted this night was in an album set to open for all folks to choose a profile picture. It was of two-year-old Anna, this time, smiling at the breast (still latched, but clearly giggling and loving her life --as it should be  Can this happen to you? Story after story has been emerging about women being asked to leave establishments across the nation for feeding their children. In spite of the fact that Forty-five states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands have laws that specifically allow women to breastfeed in any public or private location. On tonight's show we will be talking with Harley Jennette who was just recently kicked out of church AND told by the police that she could be arrested for indecent exposure for breastfeeding.. CONTRARY to the law.  We will be joined by Emma Kwasnica founder of Human Milk 4 Human Babies. She is no stranger to "Breastist" attitudes as Emma Kwasnica is being harassed by Facebook again for posting photos of her nurslings. Dr. Stuart Fischbein is a practicing obstetrician who is a strong supporter of patients rights to informed consent and refusal. He believes a patient has the right to choose her own path given true and not skewed informed consent. Following that tenet, just as a woman should be able to choose to have an elective c/section she should be able to choose not to have one, as well. He believes the American system of hospital based obstetric practice has been eroding those choices for women for quite some time. Due to concerns of economics, expediency and fears of litigation women are being coerced to make choices that may not be in their best interest.  On this show we will be discussing Breech Birth.  He believes that term breech presentation should be treated as just a variation of normal. And if selection criteria are met then informed consent and choice belong to the woman and her loved ones. While a hospital that respects autonomy would be an ideal place for these women to give birth that is not the current reality we live in. Choices are so extremely limited. That is just one of the most compelling reasons why another birthing option is so needed in America.  I am so thrilled to speak with Dr. Fischbein!
