The Murdoc Jones Show, EP 5 - Working Hard, Being Lucky, Not Being Famous, And Getting The Gout | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:01:12

The Murdoc Jones Show, EP 5 - Working Hard, Being Lucky, Not Being Famous, And Getting The Gout Murdoc Jones Recorded in South Dakota; Syndicated by KoPoint About the Show: Murdoc Jones used to be somebody: a morning drive DJ on the biggest rocknroll radio station in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota! Now, he hosts a podcast. The best part about this podcast is hanging with people that I love. Jesse Jurrens flunked out of college, and then built a company from the ground up. During the time he learned: How to deal with a sick father, invent a product, work out of his parent’s basement, start a business, be on television, become a semi-celebrity, sign a stranger’s breast, and – most importantly – make you laugh when you’re around him, because in the end he’s still a redneck goober from the middle of nowhere. Which is awesome. You can find his products online or check out Facebook, or YouTube (which he’ll never check).  And we also found how we’re going to track the popularity of this podcast. Get your camera phones, kids and learn how to help at the end of the episode. Editorial Note: This episode - and the entirety of The Murdoc Jones Show - defines NSFW. Everything in this episode is, clearly, satire. Needless to say, however, the views and opinions expressed in this episode are not those of KoPoint, INC. or any of our associates. This program was recorded in South Dakota. Please forgive the accent and ignore the buffalo. Find more great shows like this on KoPoint Thanks for listening.

 Grounded | Managing the Gray | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:02

Managing the Gray 119 - Grounded Last week, a travel writer was kicked off a United Airlines flight for taking a photo of his seat. Beyond the dumb decision this was by the flight crew, it got me thinking about how there are still so many people who haven't realized we live in an always on society. Each of us is now a publisher. We have the power to create any media we want and publish it to the world in our pockets at all times and we all need to be more aware of this. Combine this story with renewed buzz around Google Glass and the evolving face of journalism with sites like Bold Edition, Quartz and Narratively gaining traction and no one can not pay attention to this shift. Listen to the podcast to hear my thoughts on this world we now live in, that far too many brands and organizations have not yet embraced. Find more great shows like this on KoPoint.  Stendhal Syndrome | Digital Flotsam | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:33

Stendhal Syndrome | Digital Flotsam PW Fenton Another of the “Lost Episodes”. Originally published a couple of years ago it was taken off line because of rights issues. Now it’s back, with new music, and it’s better than ever. You will hear… The classical music of Giacomo Puccini is featured most, and one aria “O mio babbino caro” most of all. Hard to recommend one particular recording. “Statue Got Me High” by They Might Be Giants “Tourist” by Jacob, from the CD “Just A Tourist Here” Find more great shows like this on KoPoint.  AFK On Air, EP 08 - Cosplay in America | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:26

AFK On Air, EP 8 - Cosplay in America Early in AFK On Air season 1, we talked about cosplay as hobby, creative expression, and art form. But while co-hosts Lindsay Johnson and Lauren Panepinto discussed what it’s like to make costumes and get photographed, what about hearing from the other side of the lens? Lindsay and Natalie Zutter met up with cosplay photographer Ejen Chuang at Kinokuniya, a fun Japanese bookstore in Manhattan’s Bryant Park. Ejen was in town for a photo exhibition sponsored by the Otaku Anime Society at Kean University promoting his book Cosplay In America. Hours before a meet-up with new friends who would show him around NYC for the day, Ejen met up with us to chat about the long road to the book. He started the Cosplay In America project in 2009, after he had rejoined the cosplay scene as a photographer. The photographs are compiled over the course of several years and countless conventions, big to small, all across America. Ejen was gracious and funny, answering a bevy of cosplay questions including... What was it about photographing cosplay that inspired you to self-publish your book? Do you have a preference for bigger, flashier cons or smaller, more intimate ones? Do you run into the same cosplayers at multiple cons? What makes an unforgettable cosplay photo?  Amzing Detroit | Managing the Gray | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 9:58

Amazing Detroit | Managing the Gray CC Chapman In which host CC Chapman kicks off the book tour for Amazing Things Will Happen in Detroit, Michigan. I was in Detroit kicking off the book tour for Amazing Things Will Happen and found myself inspired to share some thoughts on the city. This is a city that I'm quickly falling in love with the energy and vibe of. While it may be kicked and down at the moment, there are so many people determined to pick it back up and make it better than ever. Plus, there is a strong sense of social good and helping the community on top of making a profit that you don't hear about often enough other places. The audio quality on this is going to be not as good as usual. I'm testing out a new iPhone app called bossjock studio which allows me to record full podcasts while on the road. Next time I'll plug in an external microphone to make it sound even better. Find more great shows like this on KoPoint. Thanks for listening.

Inauguration Inspiration | Managing the Gray | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 9:14

Managing the Gray | Inauguration Inspiration CC Chapman KoPoint Politics are the last thing that usually inspire me to record a podcast, but today that is exactly what made me fire up the microphone and hit record. But, this isn’t a rant fueled political episode. Instead I wanted to encourage people to find the issues that they are passionate about and fight for them. It is our duty to be educated on what is going on around us and be vocal about anything we believe in. I mentioned my recent post about the foreign aid and how it wasn’t until I learned more about it that I became vocal about it. It is equally important also, to respect other’s beliefs and opinions and not pick a fight every time you see someone who doesn’t line up exactly like you do. The show ends with my encouragement for you to check out all the great audio being published over at KoPoint. This show is just one of many different shows there and I’m proud to be part of such a progressive media network. Listen to KoPoint on iTunes. Thanks for listening.
