David knew a thing or two about waiting for the Lord to grant him victory over his enemies and dealing with false accusations. His words in Psalm 108-111 remind us that we can trust the Lord to fight for us and that He is our Messiah, King and High Priest.
Given the current state of the world it’s no wonder many people are walking around in fear. However, as Christians we are called to a different kind of fear- fear of the Lord. As we study Psalm 111:10 we learn what this really means and how to respond when we begin to find ourselves afraid of man.
The Israelites rebelled against God time and time again during the course of their history, but yet God has always remained faithful and merciful to them. As we study Psalm 106-107, we see the Lord’s lovingkindness towards us as well and can rejoice because we are redeemed.
There is a steep price to pay for sin in the form of death, destruction and hell. But the good news for us on this Resurrection Sunday 2019 is that Jesus paid it in full when He died on the cross and rose again. All we must do is decide how we will respond.
As we look at the wonderful characteristics of our loving God, marvel at His creation and consider His grace and forgiveness in Psalms 103-105 may we be like David as he declares “Bless the Lord, O my Soul!”
In Psalm 106:7-15 we read the cautionary tale of the Israelites failing to appreciate God’s provision and lusting after meat thinking it would fulfill their desires. As we try to learn from their example, we see how lusts of the flesh can trip us up and lead to destruction if we indulge our desires and do not pursue a spiritual path.

Despite our best efforts to avoid sin and live righteously, we still continually fall short. However, as we study Psalm 99-102 we see God’s graciousness in forgiving us and we can rejoice in who He is as we await a glorious future with Him.
David writes a beautiful description of the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness in Psalm 103:8-14. However, in our own lives we often fall considerably short in extending the same mercy and forgiveness to others. As we study we learn how to remedy our bad attitudes so that we can forgive as Christ forgives us.
When we truly stop to consider God’s mercy, glory, might and righteousness as described Psalm 92-98, it is easy to sing praise to Him, declare who He is, and worship Him with a thankful heart.
Worship - it’s not just a fun activity or warm-up before the teaching, but is actually an integral part of our relationship with God. As we look at Psalm 92:1-6 we learn the benefits of being worshipers and see that it’s not about the song, but about the Son.
Sometimes life doesn’t turn out how we expect and we can begin to doubt the promises of God and whether He is really blessing us. However, as we study Psalm 89:20 - 91:16 we learn how to abide in God’s faithfulness despite our circumstances and rest in the hope of our eternal future.

Moses pens a beautiful poem in Psalm 90 about creation, the brevity of man and God’s eternal nature. However, as we examine the deeper meaning of his words, we see their prophetic implications concerning the timeline of humanity and its coming end.
