Despite seeing God’s miraculous works and experiencing His goodness time and time again the Jews still chose rebellion and disobedience against Him. However, as we study Psalm 78 we see that God never left them and continued to have loving compassion upon them despite their behavior.

As Asaph laments over the fate of Jerusalem in Psalm 79 he wonders how long things will remain in turmoil for the city and his people. Fortunately for us, Scripture gives us God’s entire plan for the Jews and Israel – from being scattered across the earth, to being regathered in the land, to the glorious future that awaits Jerusalem upon Christ’s return.

Regardless of the circumstances we are facing or our present stage of life we can rejoice in the Lord and give glory to His name.
