Tweet Well with all that went on in the last month I never got the Tuesday polls posted so I have to call an audible today and pick my own show, I think long time listeners will be pleased with it. I sat today in dismay as I looked at Fox News and CNN for just a bit to get a feel for what is going on with the Assclown Circus of 2016.  All I hear is each side saying the other side sucks more.  I am getting emails from listeners about how family members are angry with each other because of who they will vote for or because they won’t vote at all. I look and I see nothing but a nation on verge of just saying F-it and dropping a shit ton of LSD and lighting shit on fire.  It saddens me and it makes me laugh at the same time.  I know as I have always taught there is no solution in the halls of government or in arguing with your friends and family about which criminal is worse or even making the case that they are all criminals.  The only real solutions are in the acts of sedition and insurrection. Of course it is not time for riots, or gun fire or bombs, those are the weapons of fools.  The state excels at violence, it is the master of violence.  The quiet insurrection is the one we have been involved in for almost a decade now.  I just think it is time for a pep talk on the subject. I try to focus on the solutions here 99% of the time, vs. the problems.  The issue though is many listeners are often frustrated by my comments like “politics no longer matter especially at the federal level. They feel if everyone felt that way there would be no checks left on the system.  To a degree they have a point, I will acknowledge this today and tell you why it still doesn’t matter. Are You Proud of Your Chains Slave? Still others are frustrated by those they love and care about who are not willing to “wake up” and simply become just a little bit self reliant. They simply have done so themselves, they know how great it feels and they can’t understand why others will not take at least that first step. It becomes very hard to understand why so many continue to exist as dumbed down cogs in the system and can’t even fix say their own flat tire. The truth?  We are a nation of slaves!  We are slaves to… Exceptionalism Ideology Debt Taxes Class Structures Racial Bias And Above All Fear We are a nation of slaves, slaves that have built our own prison walls, our own cells and slaves that even manage our own “work release” programs.  We are slaves who not only have forged and crafted our own chains, we actually are proud of them and polish their shackles to a high shine. This sounds insane but there are two reasons I felt it was time to do this show. You will never achieve your freedom unless you first acknowledge your slavery You will never understand why many cling to ignorance until you understand that they currently fear freedom What I am saying really is that even though we are delving into the “problem” today we are actually still focused on the solution.  Hold on and strap in this won’t be a feel good episode but in the end it still might make you feel good, I mean freedom feels good. I say it all the time and I will do so again today, do not confuse education with school.  I also though want to do all I can once again to point out that criticism of our educational system is not “teacher bashing”. If people could get over the false belief that “teachers are heroes”, perhaps we can make some progress on that?  It is difficult to have a logical conversation when people cling to illogical ideals. It is 2015 folks, how about we act like it? That is what is truly needed at this juncture.  An honest look at the problems with modern education and an acceptance of what can and can’t be fixed. An acceptance that teaching 6 year old children their ABCs is very noble, but it isn’t heroic. It is a job and if it can be done better and more efficiently by other means, it should be considered and implemented where it works. Frankly GPAs nation wide alone sort of match this but that isn’t what I mean.   I was a “good student” on paper, graduated in the top 15% of my class, with a little real effort I would have been in the top 10 of students overall, easily, but I didn’t give a shit.  Nothing could have changed that in the current system.  I didn’t care because I knew 80% of what I was tested on would never apply to my life. I want to come at this issue academically today, let us for the sake of arguement say the following is true… The current educational system is an A+ for the needs of 10% of our students It gets a B for the needs of 20% It gets a C for the needs of another 20% It gets a D to an F for the other 50% Now look you might say the average teenager can’t make that determination, but now as a quite successful person in my 40’s, time has proven that I was correct.   Less than 20% of what I learned in high school, is applicable to my current life and career. So the above numbers are likely kind to the current system.  Plenty of A and B students are bored to tears in school.   Plenty are also bullied, picked on and ridiculed.  All this while eating state provided lunches that are little better than what prisoners get at Federal Prison.  And if you share your lunch with a fellow student that is hungry, you are punished! I have to say that while I feel the educational system of the 1980s was flawed and largely a waste of my time, it has only gotten worse over the years.  Things that were encouraged when I was a kid like standing up to bullies, sharing food and helping others are now not only not encouraged they are actively punished. This is not the fault of the teacher, teachers don’t write policies, hell they barely even write a lesson plan now.  Politicians now largely set policy and write curriculum.  They are themselves victims of the same system.  Want a raise in pay, go take another course in education, get your masters etc.  Seriously how much education does one need to effectively teach 2nd grade? Not that second graders are not a challenge but that is a lot more of a social skill then an academic one.  The good news though to be blunt is solutions abound. My hope today is to help you understand money from as many new perspectives as possible.  If you think about it nothing in general has a greater effect on the lives of most Americans than money.  Money is why we work, how we provide our housing and food, how we are taxed and how our class structure is defined.  We can deny this if we choose to but a family with a gross income of 100,000 dollars a year lives a much more comfortable life than one with a gross income of say 25,000  a year. Yet if you ask most people, “what is money” they really have no idea.  Now if you are going to answer that question with something like, “gold and silver” you really don’t have the answer either.  Money is far deeper than to try to simply define it with a group of commodities.  I promise you that no matter what you think about money from its constitutional basis, national purpose or method of creation that today’s show will expand your horizons.  It may also challenge you. We also had this message on our banner at the booth.  I would say the reactions people had to it could be broken down into three groups. About 50% of the people got it, instantly. About 25% got it when asked, “Remember the story of “The Grasshopper and the Ant”. About 25% had never even heard of the Grasshopper and the Ant” The last group really shocked me, I simply could not imagine that 25% of people in general let alone 25% at a prepper expo would not be familiar with the old fable.  Overall this is what inspired today’s show.
