He won India's freedom from the British on the strength of truth and nonviolence. Gandhiji gave the path of truth and nonviolence to everyone and Gandhi's truth shown in the comedy film Lage Raho Munnabhai reflects the use of truth today. Once again in the present we are inspired by it and use Gandhian policy. Gandhi was very fond of the colorful kites which is a characteristic of this state. Here the International Kite Festival is organized. Kite flying experts come from all around the world to show their talents of kite flying. On one thread only one hundred and fifty or more kites are flown in the sky. This festival is called Makar Sankrati, which is celebrated on January 14th. They get up early in the morning and go to the terrace and carry refreshments along with them. We can hear the voices of people shouting and yelling Lapeet and Voh kapiyo. They fly the kites and cut each other's kite in the sky only. This is a beautiful sight which is really worth seeing. One can see the whole sky full of colorful kites which fills the New Year with enthusiasm and happiness. This view is like an infatuation. From poor to rich, all enjoy this festival in limited amounts. On this day Sesame sweets are prepared and a very special vegetable is prepared, which is known as undhiyu ("mixed vegetable"). The mixed vegetable is prepared from the combination of forty to fifty vegetables. At night kite flying is also enjoyed. After sunset, candles are lit in lanterns and are flown in the sky with the kites. Many people consider flying kites as an indication of good luck and by seeing flying kites or by flying kites, it is a good exercise for eyes and also good for health. --------------------------- Learn Hindi with HindiPod101!
