The unemployment rate in Spain now stands at 24.44% according to the latest figures revealed Friday by the National Institute of Statistics.The autonomous community of Andalucia leads the unemployment figures with 1,329,000 unemployed, a rise of 81,100. Second in line is Catalonia with 836,900 people out of a job, an increase of 61,500, and an unemployment rate of 22.16%. Third place in terms of number of unemployed goes to Valencia with 681,400 without a job, and an unemployment rate of 27.32%.MANICURES and pedicures are not just pampering people they are also sprucing up the economy. Among the ailing businesses, fast-food restaurants and shuttered-up shops on the nation's struggling High Streets, nail bars are a beacon of hope. While many big-name retail chains are going to the wall, nail bars are the UK's fastest-growing business, accounting for 16.5 per cent of new outlets in the past three years. So why are talon salons shaping up to be a prettily-varnished success story at a time that really is as hard as nails?

MPs in the UK are suffering from stress. A clinic is to be set up at Westminster to help MPs suffering from mental health problems. Doctors in the House of Commons have reported a growing number of MPs coming to them with depression and anxiety. Officials have approved £25,000 annual funds for specialist treatment to be offered to MPs at Westminster after they said discrimination over mental health makes it hard for them to talk to doctors in their constituencies. A popular 12-year-old schoolboy was found hanging in his bedroom by his brother after his mother confiscated his mobile phone, an inquest heard today. The coroner said it was a tragic case and children sometimes don’t understand the consequences of their actions. His mother had taken his phone from him one morning in June last year at their home. She told the inquest: ‘I don't think he actually wanted to kill himself. I don't think he wanted to live the life he had any more but I don't think he wanted to die. I think it was a cry for help.’ Cain Westcarr, of Gloucester, had spent two days arguing with his mother Veronica Lee, and was discovered just 40 minutes after saying he was going to his room to listen to music.
