It’s always important to start off your podcast with your guest introducing themselves and who they are. My guest this week is Chris Englebert who is the Founding Partner and CIO of Englebert Financial Partners. In this clip he introduces himself to you, the audience, and breaks down his ideology behind how he conducts business.
I’m taking a break from the How to Start a Podcast Series to go back to an interview I scheduled a few weeks back. My guest today is Chris Englebert who is the Founding Partner & CIO of Englebert Financial Advisers. We talk a lot about the economy. Oil prices, the current state of the middle class, taxes, capitalism as a whole and flipping the board to end a game of Monopoly.
How long should my podcast be? It’s a question I hate answering but here I am. In this clip I defend my reasoning as to why this is the dumbest question I get asked when it comes to podcasting. How long is your ideal podcast?
What do you plan on talking about on your podcast? How do you choose a discussion topic? In this clip I answer all the questions and help you find your niche. If you have a business I give examples on how a podcast can benefit your business. If you want to start a business give an example of how your podcast can become a business. No matter what topic you choose it’s important to find a hole in the market and plug it with your new podcast.
In this podcast clip Christian and I give an example of how to handle a guest before you start recording. We go over the spelling and pronunciation of his name, give him a title, go over what we will be talking about, ask if anything is off limits, and set the timeframe for the podcast. Feel free to use this template for your guests and let me know your process or how I can make mine better.
I have a lot of fun naming podcasts for people. In this clip I break down the dos and don’ts of naming your podcast as well as share the story of how Talking with Tarashuk got its name. What do you think of my advice?
It’s important that your podcast guests know what they are getting into. Do not blindside your guests with something they may not want to talk about or may not be qualified to answer. You do not want to disrespect your guests on your airwaves. In this clips Christian and I run down the do’s and don’t when it comes to prepping your guest to appear on your podcast.
Before I have a guest appear on my podcast I need to make sure I am prepared. I need a list of questions. In this podcast clip I show you my process and break it down step by step. I walk you through my thought process and how I prepare a 3 act structure for my discussions.
A call to action for your podcast can be your plugs, where to subscribe, where to follow, what your social media channels are, or an advertisement from your partners. In this podcast clip I tell you where you can put these calls to actions and why you should put them there.
