Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: 'Live' - The PodCast (People Pleasing Music Company Ltd in association with Authentic Promotions Agency and Derek Chiswick Management presents)

Summary: The Morning Breakfast Sessions-A brand new, twice weekly, morning music and entertainment show, presented by your musical host and entertainer, Mike Sidaway. On Monday and Thursday mornings from 9am until 9.30am, Mike Sidaway presents an entertaining, musical set, as he sits at the piano at home in his living room and sings and plays a selection of songs from across the genres, old and new. He's brand new to this-he's only done gigs before in venues. He does not present shows (clearly).Things go wrong.A lot goes wrong:there are sound problems to deal with, technical challenges to overcome. And it's all broadcast live through his Facebook page. There is the 3-min pre-show chat with his manager and agent, Derek Chiswick (a running, dramatic, at times tearful, soap-opera), the news and sport with Bob Chambers (who keeps telling us he used present BBC Look North in the 80s, of which no historical evidence can be found),a new, special weekly-feature entitled 'The Virus And Me', where 'journalist' Adriunn Pyeulls will talk to a variety of famous figures from the world of Music/Entertainment/the Arts about the impact that COVID-19 is having directly in their life.Plus plenty of shout-outs to viewers watching 'Live', a chance to get involved and text/message/call, and musical/song requests. In each show, there will be four or five great songs, from a selection of pop/rock/jazz artists and bands from across the ages, all renditions by Mike at the piano (ah, now that's the bit that he's actually fairly good at). On occasion, we are lucky enough to be graced with an appearance from agent, manager and legendary artist Derek Chiswick, performing crowd-pleasing, show-stopping numbers from the world of WestEnd Musical Theatre.Fun and silliness ensue throughout (Oh yes, we adore the silliness, Mike-you are so, very silly). From time to time, Martin Piper, Head of FaceAche (as Martin likes to call it-'I just hope that 'the Zuck' doesn't find out, or he would have my head on a plate') 'Live' Operations from the UK's Headquarters in Scunthorpe, drops in for a quality-control check to see if all is in order and above board, (after all Mike&Martin got off to a pretty rocky start after Mike's use of an expletive term in his very first broadcast on Facebook-the word 'shitting'-got him into hot water. They since have made up-largely because Martin has heard a lot worse language in his own home from his own kids. All 'Live' and uninterrupted on Facebook thru Mike's Facebook page:Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment. And when all the jolliness is over, Mike edits it down, taking out the garbage (of which there is a lot) keeping the best bits (of which there are none), and brings to you the complete, glorious, shiny, sparkly, slickly-produced, incredible, amazing, perfect, future award-winning, finished article in the form of this PodCast.A work in progress (slightly better each show), it's an interesting, experimental show, so come along and enjoy the rollercoaster ride (ha bloody ha).All wholesome, good-hearted humour (oh Mike, you're so very funny, you kill me.No, literally-you kill me.Nice to have on in the background whilst you are enjoying your breakfast.Beamed 'Live' from Mike's Living Room straight to you.Wherever you are. You're at home.I hope you can tune in and join me on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9am.And don't forget Sunday Morning Love Songs-essential listening for sentimental, weak-minded, soppy souls who like to cry at music/films on a regular basis.I look forward to welcoming you.Thanks,Mike.

Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management presents a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production Sunday Love Songs: Sunday 19th April 2020   Mike's Manager, Derek Chiswick, is absent once more. For the second time in a row. Can Mike cope without Derek's wise, pre-show, words? Probably. But Mike is beginning to think that he has seriously offended Derek in some way. Could it be the mere suggestion that Derek lower his commission rate to around 15%? Surely Derek is not so delicate. He comes across as being pretty thick skinned, but perhaps underneath he might be quite a sensitive soul. Who knows..he's probably just fine, and is taking it easy in the garden on another fine, Sunday morning. No crazy news today. No garbage. Not so much talking. Thank goodness for that. And he needs to stop saying the word - 'alright' - after every single song. It is getting extremely annoying, to say the least, and turning listeners away.Mike will have to refine his style and delivery somewhat.Or just stick to shutting his big 'gob'.(Mike has been told that his gob is so large that he can get a ten inch crusty French stick into it without getting any crumbs on the floor, and - rather impressively - without grating the roof of his palate. Mike has been told many things like this in his life. Some are well intended. And some are, well, intended to offend him).Just more of a regular gig today...with some nice love songs. Hope you enjoy.Songs TodayLove Me Like You Do, Ellie GouldingHello Again, Neil DiamondTo Make You Feel My Love, Bob Dylan, Garth Brooks, Adele, Kris AllenCowboys And Angels, George MichaelThe One I Love, David GrayLove Me Tender, Elvis PresleyTo Love Somebody, Bee Gees, Michael BubléWonderful Tonight, Eric ClaptonCrazy Love, Van Morrison. Derek's shopping list was so extensive that he had to take five re-usable shopping bags (the really large ones). How will his back hold up? ('it's the fifteen tins of soup that are the worst') - we shall have to find out during the next episode.Still, Mike was able to crack on undeterred this morning, with the encouraging words 'break a leg' ringing in his head just before he went 'on stage'.Mike's looking forward to Bob Chambers coming in next week to do the News..it's all a bit too much for him. Thanks as ever to the Production Team:Doris, Beryl, Mavis, Fred, Ethel, Diedre, Ken, Dorothy and Irene (who have the largest combined age of any Production team in the world). And thanks to Nathan on Sound.Songs TodayBudapest, George EzraHold Me While You Wait, Lewis CapaldiShape Of You, Ed SheeranAin't That A Kick In The Head, Dean MartinJust The Way You Are, Bruno Mars (Acoustic Piano)Up On The Roof, The DriftersNote from Derek Chiswick ManagementPlease bear in mind that this is a recording of a LIVE performance, and that the singing from Mr Sidaway is taking place at 9am. (Most musicians do not surface until around 3.30pm due to regular bouts of hard-drinking, all night parties, general laziness and engaging in copious amounts of 'questionable and lewd behaviour.')Therefore, we hope you can forgive the bags under the eyes, the messy hair, the generally scruffy appearance, permanent unshaven face, and understand and appreciate that the vocal performance is not always going to be the best... Seems an awful large chunk. But in his own words, Derek has been in the business for a long time. And you get what you pay for. Derek must have hundreds and hundreds of contact in his pad. But perhaps they are all from the mid 70s. Maybe 80% is his contacts are now...well, dead. That's not going to give the young musician, Mike, any interesting opportunities and new exciting avenues.Perhaps Mike and Derek can come to some arrangement, and maybe agree to meet somewhere in the middle, 'around the 22.5% mark'. Derek does not realise that as well as being an 'accomplished musician' Mike graduated in Mathematics. Derek should also realise that even year three pupils can work out the mid-point of zero and thirty. Hmm.Derek has invited Mike round to his home to meet Mrs Chiswick. Sounds nice. Is Derek just trying to soften Mike up, take advantage of his youth and his lack of experience in business and contract negotiations? Surely Derek would not stoop to such depths. Hopefully, it is a genuine offer and a chance to become better acquainted. And, of course, meet 'the wife' - the good Lady Chiswick (as Derek refers to her) - and perhaps sample her homemade lasagne washed DAAAAN wiv a glaaarrs of Asti (Spumante).Songs TodayHound Dog, Elvis PresleyShot - Done! Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management presents a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production The Morning Breakfast Sessions: Friday 10th April 2020Mike has signed up Derek Chiswick to be his agent and manager. But has Mike put pen to paper yet? Discussions are ongoing and perhaps the terms will have to be negotiated. It could take a while. Derek has been in the business forever, it seems (he's 67 years-old), so he will be no pushover when it comes to the finer details of the contract including the percentage commission he receives, and access to Mike's special Lockdown bunker, etc. (Derek has a weakness for Minstrels).Meanwhile, Mike is about to go on stage. Again. Is there anybody in the audience today? The sound issues are ongoing. Mike has had to let his chief sound engineer, Phil Jones, go. It was hard. But it's a tough business, these are tough times, and Phil was just not up to the task - the basic task, as Derek puts it - of making Mike sound good. And Mike needs all the help he can get to sound good. There's a new sound man - now operating in Mike's high-tech, sound-proofed Garden shed in the backyard - with his mixing equipment and multitude of cables. But Nathan has extremely good cable-management, always tidies up after himself (ncluding squeezing each used tea-bag out so much, to the point that the dry bag will split open. Yes.), and, more importantly, is a very capable sound engineer, that has been in the business for - Well, months.Mike has got the show organised, labelled, ordered, with a script, and now has a Welcome section with music (not more George Michael?), a News section with music (his favourite tv theme). And he even has time to sing a few songs.Hmmm.Songs TodayI've Got You Under My Skin, Frank SinatraYour Song, Elton JohnThat's Amore, Dean MartinBeyond The Sea, Bobby Darin   Thanks to our team -  Sound:  Nathan Production Team:  Beryl, Betty, Deidre, Doris, Ethel, Elsie, Evelyn, Blanche, Fred, Irene, Ken, Mabel, Mavis, Pearl, Phyllis and Reg.  1. PREVIEW. Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: The Morning Breakfast Sessions - Pre-Show Chat with Derek Chiswick & Introduction (Wednesday 8th April 2020) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 05:18

1. Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management present a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production PREVIEW - The Morning Breakfast Sessions: Wednesday 8th April 2020The Stage Manager, Derek Chiswick - from Chiswick, ironically - knocks on the toilet door (the backstage venue does not have an artiste room) to inform young Mr Sidaway that it's five minutes until showtime. Derek has been in the music and entertainment business forever, it seems. Well, he is 67 years-old - ancient, by today's standards - and has a lot of experience and 'wisdom'. Mike is, understandably, a bit nervous. After all, he is new to this. His experimental, trial, first show the day before went extremely badly. First time nerves, a number of technical sound issues that made for a pretty bad start to his new career entertaining people on-stage as opposed to his video camera in his bedroom. But Derek is very supportive and positive. Perhaps a little blunt and too honest at times - but, nonetheless, very encouraging and is most definitely in Mike's corner, like a trainer, revving him up, getting him going, building up his confidence and completely willing him on.Derek - a keen keyboard player himself - is quite keen, it seems, to push Mike down the Technics synthesiser route. Firstly, as the keyboard is equipped with a quite excellent selection of 'rivums' (to get people up dancing to the Bossa Nova, etc), at the touch of a dust/crumb/some kind of oily substance surrounded button (that sticks and won't come back up when depressed) on his state-of-the-art 1993 SX-KN2000 (the one with the super-convenient 'deluxe metal music stand' that slots into the holes) model mk2 control panel (which forces him to play every song with the Steel Drums sound). But, secondly, for the selfish reason to benefit Derek himself, who still, to this day, owns a number of shares (which must be 'worf a small fortune') in the, now, defunct and delisted company. Derek did not, it appears, receive the letter informing him that the Technics division of Panasonic went into administration in the early 2000s and that the dividend cheque payable to him was only in the region of £253.18 (not a small fortune).Derek does a nice, easy Sunday afternoon 'set' for the local community in the village hall. The villagers, according to Derek, absolutely 'luuv' it...He's also had some experience in Music Management, and is quite keen to represent and promote the talents and services of young Mr Sidaway, who he feels needs more direction, focus, career development and a clear 'parf' forward. There are untapped markets out there to be exploited - including Facebook 'Live'.According to Derek, other musicians and entertainers ou there are, in his words, 'raking it in, and filling their wallets win digital money'.Good luck Mr Sidaway. And break a leg.   Songs Today No songs today unfortunately (due to not recording the show).   Thanks to our team -  Sound:  Nathan Production Team:  Beryl, Betty, Deidre, Doris, Ethel, Elsie, Evelyn, Blanche, Fred, Irene, Ken, Mabel, Mavis, Pearl, Phyllis and Reg. PodCast Editor:  Brian   *Thank you very much for listening and see you soon.
