Another Loss, But It's Throwback Thursday! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1402

I mean, sure, the Dodgers lost their third straight game, and there's were hardly even any bright spots to speak of. BUT ... baseball is still great, and today for Throwback Thursday, Vince and Jeff share their earliest Dodger memories.  Sure, the Offense Was Lousy, But Did You See Marcell Ozuna? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1653

Normally on Locked On Dodgers, we focus exclusively on the Los Angeles Dodgers. But last night, it was the man playing left field against the Dodgers who stole the show. In a 4-0 Cardinals victory, left-fielder Marcell Ozuna made a valiant effort to rob Kiké Hernandez of a home run. The only problem was, the ball landed on the warning track a few feet shy of the fence -- and so did Ozuna. If you want to watch the play, click here. (Please don't watch it while driving.) So in this episode, Vince and Jeff spend the first segment talking about the Dodgers offense, but the second segment is devoted to a draft of each of our favorite things about the Ozuna Incident.  Kiké's Brain, Kelly's Arm, and Ryu's Groin -- A Losing Combination | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1742

The Dodgers opened a 4-game set with the Cardinals in St. Louis, and things did not go according to plan. Hyun-Jin Ryu left the game with two outs in the second inning with what we later found out was a left groin strain, leaving the beleaguered and overworked bullpen to cover the last 7.1 innings. Joe Kelly thought he'd do his part by making it so the Cards didn't have to bat in the ninth inning, allowing one run of Scott Alexander's and one of his own to turn a 3-2 lead into a 4-3 deficit and eventual loss. Kiké Hernandez did his part, too, having a brain-fart for the second straight day and running the Dodgers out of an inning. Jeff and Vince are here to talk about all three topics and their various related subjects.  The Cody Bellinger MVP Train is Rolling! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1612

Heading into the weekend series with the Rockies, Cody Bellinger was the hottest player in baseball. In the Dodgers' three-game sweep of Colorado, all Cody did was go 6-for-12 with two doubles, a triple, and two home runs and play Gold Glove defense at two different positions. In today's episode, Jeff and Vince talk about Cody's season, along with the hot start from fellow lefty outfielder Alex Verdugo, who needs more playing time. We wrapped up with a discussion of the offense as a whole, including one staggering clutch statistic. We also started a new giveaway contest, this time for a pair of field-level tickets to a Dodger game! Listen to the show to find out how to enter.  Off-Day Mailbag: Talking Kluber & Bauer, Bellinger's MVP Case, and Bumgarner the Dodger | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1615

For the first time since the season began, we don't have an actual game to discuss, so we opened up the mailbag to take your Twitter questions. We talked about Clayton Kershaw's first rehab start and what it might mean for the Dodgers in acquiring another starting pitcher, either Corey Kluber or Trevor Bauer from the Indians or maybe even Madison Bumgarner from the Giants. We also discussed what Cody Bellinger need to do in games 8 through 162 to lock down his MVP case. Oh yeah, and we announced the winner of the Walker Buehler bobblehead contest.  Caleb Ferguson is Holding It Down and So Is the Offense | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1218

Another series win aided by elite reliever Caleb Ferguson and a bold (?) Dave Roberts decision regarding David Freese, plus a look back at the offense through the first week of the season. Hint: It's really, really good.  Locked On Dodgers, the daily podcast about the Los Angeles Dodgers with hosts Jeff Snider and Vince Samperio, is part of the Locked On Podcast Network.  Bellinger & Ryu Look Great, Bullpen & Muncy Look ... Less Great | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1552

It should have been an easy win for the Dodgers after Cody Bellinger's grand slam put them up 5-0, especially with Hyun-Jin Ryu cruising. But a bad pitch to Madison Bumgarner cost Ryu two runs, and another bad night for the bullpen and some shaky defense from Max Muncy cost the team three more and left them hanging on by their fingernails for a 6-5 victory. Jeff and Vince are here to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Joe Kelly, You Broke My Heart | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1624

The Dodgers started their first series with the hated Giants last night, and while Julio Urias looked great and Chris Taylor showed some signs of breaking out, the offense struggled overall and Joe Kelly continued his lackluster start to the season with another blown lead leading to a loss. Jeff is flying solo today (Vince had to drive home to San Diego from Dodger Stadium after the game, and we decided not to subject you to a cell phone episode), and he talks about the tale of two pitchers and then preaches his philosophy on how to deal with crappy games as a fan.  Not Quite Perfect, but Great First Weekend | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1563

The Los Angeles Dodgers showcased a few areas of potential growth in their Opening Weekend series win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, but they also showcased an explosive offense that can win in pretty much any way imaginable. The strung hits together. They played small ball. Oh yeah, and they also hit 16 homers in four games. Jeff and Vince are here to break down some key elements of that series, as well as preview the upcoming three-game series with the San Francisco Giants. We also have, hidden in this episode, an opportunity to win a Walker Buehler bobblehead from this past weekend. To find out how to enter, you'll have to listen to the episode.  Opening Day Went Very Well! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1521

The Dodgers opened their 2019 season on Thursday, and it went about as well as we could have hoped. Hyun-Jin Ryu was dominant, and the offense was even more dominant. The Dodgers hit a record eight home runs, including two apiece by Joc Pederson and Kiké Hernandez, and former Dodger Zack Greinke got knocked around for 7 earned runs in 3.2 innings. Jeff and Vince are here to discuss Ryu, Pederson, and "Felix from Riverside," who called into AM 570 after the game to complain that the Dodgers hit too many home runs.
