Red Sox Are Swept By Rays & Injuries Continue to Pile Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1671

Red Sox struggles continue against AL East teams and that showed as the Sox get swept by the Rays in 3 games. All three phases were sloppy in this series and those mistakes really hurt the Sox when it mattered. Things continue to get worse for this team as injuries continue to pile up but luckily some of their most reliable rotation arms are coming back for the series against the Yankees. Massachusetts Pirates Team Insider Jake Ignaszewski breaks down the tough losses on Wednesday and Thursday and tries to find some positives about each game. On Thursday, Kutter Crawford had a masterful outing through six innings but things blew up in the 7th. Iggy gives insight on why Cora wanted to leave him out there and what went wrong in that inning for the Rays to score 5 runs to take the lead. Iggy then looks at where this sweep puts the Red Sox in the Wild Card standings and explains why it's so important for the team to improve their performance against AL East team for the remainder of the season. Then Iggy shares some injury updates and previews the pitching matchups in the Yankees series. Lastly, Iggy shares a mental health minute!  Chris Sale Returns, But Red Sox Lose Ugly Game Vs. Rays | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1353

Chris Sale made his 2022 debut for the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday and did enough to give his team. the win, but the bullpen and some sloppy play on the basepath proved costly in the Red Sox's 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. NESN's Lauren Campbell breaks down the loss and dives into Sale's start and why fans should be encouraged by it -- especially when it comes to his velocity. Lauren also goes over a slew of injury updates including Trevor Story and Matt Strahm -- who were injured Tuesday -- Matt Barnes, Nate Eovaldi and Garrett Whitlock. There unfortunately is some bad news surrounding Kiké Hernández, will this mean the Red Sox will look to add outfield depth at the MLB trade deadline Aug. 2?  Red Sox Pitcher Chris Sale Rehabs in Worcester Featuring Sale's Post-Game Press Conference | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1301

Red Sox ace Chris Sale is very close to coming back to the team after sustaining a stress fracture injury during Spring Training. Sale made his fourth rehab appearance of this stint on Wednesday but this time in Worcester and ended up pitching 3.2 innings and only allowing one run on three hits and striking out 5 batters. The Boston Red Sox could not win the series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday (but still have a chance Wednesday!) after falling 8-4 in a rainy night at Fenway Park. Xander Bogaerts returned to the lineup and belted a home run, Trevor Story also had a home run but Nick Pivetta did not have his best stuff.  Red Sox Shut Out Rays On Bullpen Day; Previewing Brayan Bello's Debut | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1875

The Boston Red Sox kicked off their homestand with a shutout win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday afternoon at Fenway Park thanks in part to a dominant outing by the bullpen.  Red Sox Avoid Sweep Vs. Cubs, Lose Rich Hill, Xander Bogaerts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1408

NESN's Lauren Campbell recaps the weekend that included some shotty offenses but strong pitching, while providing updates on Hill (knee strain) and Bogaerts (thigh laceration). Hill landed on the 15-day injured list and Bogaerts is listed as day-to-day. Some positive takeaways from the weekend was another strong start from Josh Winckowski and Connor Seabold bouncing back with a much better start than his one earlier this season. Lauren also provides an update on Chris Sale and when Red Sox fans might see him return to Boston, and also discusses Garrett Whitlock moving back to the bullpen (something Lauren is very happy about).  Red Sox Snap 7-Game Winning Streak With Loss to Blue Jays, Injury Updates | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1847

On Monday night, the Red Sox snapped their 7-game winning streak after a 7-2 loss to their division rival, the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 1 of a 3-game series. Since the game was in Toronto, Jarren Duran and Tanner Houck couldn't travel due to their vaccination status so Red Sox prospect Connor Seabold had to be called up, which didn't go how the Red Sox planned. Seabold ended up allowing three home runs off the stacked Blue Jays lineup which led to seven total runs over 4.2 innings. Massachusetts Pirates Team Insider Jake Ignaszewski broke down everything that happened in Monday's loss and looked into some positives that came out of Seabold's tough outing. Then he went into how the Red Sox bats performed and why the offense couldn't produce run support for Seabold. Luckily the Sox still have two more games in this series to make up for this loss, so Iggy went into the pitching matchup for tomorrow's game. Lastly, Iggy gave injury updates on Chris Sale, Josh Taylor, Garrett Whitlock, etc as well as read your thoughts on the game from Twitter.
