I'm sorry we had to miss last week, but we're back this week and I'm going to try my best not to miss next week even though I'm sick because I WANT TO HEAR WHAT ROSHAWN THINKS ABOUT THE NEXT PART. You all know what I'm talking about. This section is when Harry & Co. get to Arctis Tor, with a little help from the Summer Court. Lily can't travel into the heart of winter and must stay behind, but she gives Harry one of her fiery butterflies to keep the group warm and light the way. Meanwhile, something serious has happened at the castle, some kind of attack, and Harry can sense that Hellfire was used. What on earth went on here? They battle to the top and find Molly, only for an old enemy to step out and get in their way. Luckily, Lily's gift looks like it's going to be pretty handy. This is iconic and she's my favorite and I love her forever and ever amen. These chapters are the ones where Harry tries to use Little Chicago, but doesn't get any results with the baby hair until Murphy suggests Charity's blood. It's a pretty great moment of perhaps divine intervention, and I love the descriptions of Faith in Charity's eyes. Then they go to a movie theater and fight some movie theater monsters and it's great. Enjoy!

It was terribly painful for her, and I'm feeling pretty satisfied about it. This episode, I live-read chapter 32 to RoShawn so that she can share her reactions in real time and we can chat about the implications of it afterward. Charity tells Harry the truth about her own history with practicing magic and the true reason for her split with Molly; turns out, she wanted Molly to give up her magic, and Molly had no intention of doing it. And the fact that neither of them reached out for help means that Molly has been practicing without a guide, and did some magic that really hurt her friends. Even though she was trying to help. Dresden goes to the hospital with Murphy in order to take a look at the victims and see if there's any correlation between them. The first person he sees is Rosie, Molly's friend, and she's obviously got some addiction issues that she's working on as well as really strange little burns on her temples. He can't see any psychic damage on her, though. Then there's the old man, whose spirit refuses to be intimidated by whatever attacked him. And worst off is the young woman whose back was sliced open...seeing her with his Sight makes Harry literally vomit. It's not good. He doesn't think she's coming back. Then as if all that wasn't bad enough, he gets home a little early and just manages to catch Thomas before Thomas's taxi arrives to cart him away to his new place. He was just going to leave without saying anything, with some money on the mantle and a note! RoShawn doesn't know what Thomas is doing for a living, but she thinks that it's probably pretty harmless and that Harry is worried for nothing.
