When we first received Jesus Christ into our life by faith, God instilled a new hope and direction for our life.  We were excited to know more about God, about the Bible, about Jesus, and about how the Holy Spirit interacts with us.  We were enthusiastic about helping others and serving God and we told not a few people about our new life in Christ.  As the years go by, sometimes our faith and our relationship with God can hit a stall.  It is like a computer that slows down and then freezes; and all we can do is initiate a forced shutdown and reboot.  Join Chris, a long-time church pastor and fellow servant of God as he contemplates and reflects on how to gain a fresh approach toward the concept of faith.  The Christian life does not have to be dull and boring.  A new zest can be restored in our relationship with God.  We may discover far more than we could have ever anticipated. 

In "Life Hurts God Heals" Chris creates moments of reflection on our relationship with Jesus.  In this episode Chris is digging deeper into the issue of why spiritual habits, or disciplines are so difficult to install in our daily life with God.  Most every Christian wants to live the transformed life of the new nature, but they are often confronted with the immense strength of old worldly habits and attitudes embedded in our former human nature.  This is so frustrating!  We can become discouraged when pastors talk about the “victorious Christian life” when inside of us we know we are going home filled with lousy attitude, a sailor’s mouth, or a heart filled with pride, lust, anxiety or resentment which we just can’t seem to shake.  Frankly, beating ourselves up each week with shame and guilt over our failures does little to help us become the individual God has in mind for us to be.  What can we do about this?  Let’s take a fresh look from the biblical scriptures and see if we can’t come up with a better understanding and approach to living a life that makes us smile because we know God is smiling at us.  Let’s correct the confusion and begin building our lives in the strength of God’s Spirit and the beauty of His grace.  

In "Life Hurts God Heals" Chris creates moments of reflection on our relationship with Jesus. In this episode, Chris is seeking out an answer to the question "Who Am I?" Filling out personality profiles to find out who we really are, and how different or not so different we might be from our friends, family members, and co-workers is a very popular thing to do.  It seems everyone is doing it because it is fun and revealing.  Regardless of how accurate or inaccurate they may be, they do not end the search for peace in the inner person.  Why is that?  Chris will lead us on a deeper hunt for our essential identity which sets us apart uniquely and distinctively from others.  You might be surprised at the conclusions you find yourself making.  Putting an end to the search for who we are is a large step for developing a greater healing, preventing avenues of potential hurt, and creating a stronger footing in Christ when we are confronted with the rigors and challenges of life.  We will see what the biblical scriptures teach and what they do not teach about who we are.  In the process we may discover more about ourselves than any personality profile could ever reveal.

Sure she hoped after all of the craziness of her life from the drugs and alcohol, that she could get and stay sober forever - that was NOT HER CONSCIOUS GOAL.
