Is Best Picture Really Between 1917 and Parasite? - For Your Consideration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:49

On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and Jeff Sneider weigh in on Sam Mendes' recent win at the DGA Awards, and whether he's a lock to win Best Director at the Oscars. The three hosts don't necessarily agree, but they do believe that Roger Deakins will take home his second Oscar for his work on 1917.Meanwhile, Jeff thinks that 1917 will give Ford v Ferrari a run for its money in the sound categories, and while no one thinks that the Goya Awards will propel Pain and Glory to a win for Best International Feature, or Antonio Banderas to a Best Actor upset, they do think that the USC Scripter Awards could give Greta Gerwig's Little Women a minor boost in the adapted screenplay category. Finally, the gang dives into the heated race for Best Animated Feature after Netflix's Klaus upset Pixar's Toy Story 4 at the Annie Awards. Jeff says folks should watch out for I Lost My Body, which competed in a separate category. Oh, and Scott makes a terrible Parasite bet with Jeff.Make sure to leave a COMMENT below with your own thoughts on the Best Picture race, and remember to LIKE and SHARE this video on social media.  The Guilds Have Spoken, But Will the Academy Listen? - For Your Consideration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:53:23

On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and Jeff Sneider recap the SAG Awards, the PGA Awards and the ACE/Eddie Awards, all of which are important precursors on the road to the Oscars. SAG gave Parasite the award for Best Ensemble, but did that boost its Best Picture chances, or was it simply the only way to honor this cast, none of whom were nominated as individuals?Meanwhile, 1917 won the PGA Award, while Parasite and Jojo Rabbit split the top prizes from the editors guild. 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood didn't make the cut in the Best Editing category, so that major award will be going elsewhere this year, and if Parasite wins, that could signal a Best Picture upset later in the night. As for the second half of the episode, the FYC gang runs down why each Best Picture contender will win, and why each film will lose. There are pros and cons to each movie, and we can't wait to see what happens on February 9. Jeff, for one, is predicting a shocker, though you'll have to watch the episode to find out what it is.Make sure to leave a COMMENT below with your own thoughts on the Best Picture race, and remember to LIKE and SHARE this video on social media.  Golden Globes Recap and Updated Oscar Predictions - For Your Consideration | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:10

On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and Jeff Sneider recap the Golden Globes, which saw 1917 and director Sam Mendes pull off an upset victory over The Irishman and director Martin Scorsese. Meanwhile, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood took home Picture and Screenplay honors, cementing its frontrunner status as nomination morning approaches.Joaquin Phoenix, Renee Zellweger, Laura Dern and Brad Pitt all won Globes, as expected, but with Taron Egerton and Awkwafina winning as well, is it time to start taking them seriously in the Oscar race? With Egerton coming on strong, is Robert De Niro suddenly vulnerable, or is The Irishman simply more likely to appeal to Academy members than HFPA voters? The gang also talks about the ever-shifting Best Picture race, and the likelihood of Joker and Little Women cracking the field. It all depends on how many films are nominated for the big prize this year. One thing is for sure... 10 nominees would be close to impossible. So what does that mean for on-the-bubble movies like Knives Out and Ford v Ferrari, both of which took in more than $200 million worldwide. Those are just two of several movies hoping to sneak into the race, including The Farewell and The Two Popes, so make sure to leave a COMMENT below with your own thoughts on the race, and remember to LIKE and SHARE this video on social media.
