There is another coronavirus treatment out there that’s being investigated. I like this coronavirus treatment. It’s actually been around for a long time. The name of it is convalescent antibody-rich plasma. The word convalescent means that you’re recovering from some type of infection.  With the convalescent antibody-rich plasma treatment, they use plasma from people who have been through the infection and fully recovered.  Plasma is rich in antibodies. People who recovered will have antibodies against COVID-19.  This treatment will actually give you the experience of someone else’s immune system without you having to go through it. It can help protect you. If you’re critically ill, you have antibodies with all of this experience that can help speed up the recovery. In this podcast, we’re going to talk about how you can bulletproof your immune system. First, let's talk about what the immune system is.  The immune system is basically your body’s army for fighting off pathogens, which cause disease. In particular, the pathogens we’re talking about are microbes, like bacteria and viruses.  There are three main barriers to the immune system—skin, mucous lining, and inflammation.  Once a pathogen is in the body, your body deploys its counter-attack using white blood cells (WBC) and friendly gut microbes.  White blood cells and friendly microbes… • Make acid to rid pathogens • Secrete poison  • Releases free radicles • Created hydrogen peroxide • Create enzymes • Compete for food/space • Generate music and inflammation • Have a memory so they can easily deal microbes they’ve encountered before • Promote phagocytes, which are cells that destroy unfriendly microbes Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods. DATA: https://library.noetic.org/library/pu...  The shocking truth about your health with Lissa Rankin M.D. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tu9n... Today we’re going to talk about the most powerful trigger of epigenetics.  What is epigenetics?  Epigenetics are the factors that are outside of your genes that affect your genes and turn them on or off (expressed or silenced). Epigenetics are the controlling factors for what diseases you may get, how long you may live, and what may happen to your health. What influences epigenetics: 1. Environment  2. Drugs 3. Diet 4. Age  5. Nutritional deficiencies 6. Stress 7. Exercise 8. Thoughts, beliefs, etc.  There is a term called spontaneous remission. For example, let’s say someone has a disease, and all of a sudden, it goes in remission, or they’re HIV positive, and all of a sudden they’re HIV negative, or they have a tumor and all of a sudden it disappeared. In her book, “Mind Over Medicine,” Lissa Rankin M.D. talks about spontaneous remission as well as the placebo effect.  Your mental state and your thoughts can have a huge effect on epigenetics. This helps explain why it can be much more difficult to heal if you’re in a stress state.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods. Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! In this podcast, we are going to talk about potassium and how it affects your muscle strength and exercise endurance.  The first thing you need to know is that you have tiny pumps on the membranes of your cells, which are called sodium-potassium pumps. They are small protein molecules that have enzyme activity. You have billions of these, and they work 24/7.  30% of your body’s energy is allocated to these tiny pumps. So what do they do exactly? All they do is push out sodium and push in potassium. Essentially, what this does is it turns your cells into little batteries to allow the muscles to do their work.  Now, if your sodium-potassium pumps aren’t working, you’re going to feel it—you may experience weakness and a lack of endurance.  There are several things that can cause a problem with these pumps: • Low potassium diets • Inactivity • Insulin resistance/diabetes • Slow thyroid • Low magnesium • Diuretics • Too much caffeine  • Cortisol (too much stress) Start by boosting your potassium and see if your energy levels increase.  Why Has Keto Gotten a Bad Rap? | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 267

Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! In this podcast, I want to talk to you about why keto has gotten a bad rap. You may have heard about things in the news or other media outlets about keto being dangerous and having side effects like: • Constipation • High uric acid • Low calcium • Low magnesium • Kidney stones • Gall stones • High cholesterol • Vomiting • Diarrhea • Fatigue • Hypoglycemia • Slow growth • Abnormal heart rhythm Is the ketogenic diet dangerous?  The truth is, these symptoms can happen when you’re doing keto… But here’s the reason why: The traditional/classical version of the keto diet wasn’t designed to be sustainable—it was designed to treat children with epilepsy. However, this is a much different ketogenic diet from the healthy version of the ketogenic diet. The diet that causes these side effects is a dirty version of the ketogenic diet.  Healthy Keto doesn’t allow foods like: • Mayonaise • Unhealthy salad dressings • GMO soy oil • Refined vegetable oil • Soy • Non-organic, low-quality casein  • Certain carbs — bread and rice • Diet soda • Orange juice • Corn syrup • Maltodextrin  If you consume these foods, you are going to deplete nutrients—vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, etc.—and you’re going to create a lot of fo gallbladder issues and bloating with unhealthy fats.  Most of all, Healthy Keto highlights vegetables. Dirty keto includes very few quality vegetables in the diet. This causes nutrient deficiencies and lots of side effects.  So when you see studies on the news about the “ketogenic diet,” you’re only seeing the unhealthy version of keto, which I don’t recommend at all.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods. In this podcast, I want to talk about how intermittent fasting has the potential to improve your vision greatly.  Let’s start by looking at one of the biggest causes of poor vision—diabetes. When you’re a diabetic, there are four main issues that are affected: kidneys, heart, nervous system, and the eyes.  There’s actually a condition caused by diabetes called diabetic retinopathy. This is damage to the retina. There’s also a chance of developing glaucoma when you’re a diabetic. When you have a blood sugar issue, it destroys the tiny vascular system that goes to the optic nerve. This can cause blindness.  We also have another problem called macular degeneration. This is another situation where you have poor circulation in the back of the eye.  And finally, we have the common issue of cataracts. Cataracts are very common in diabetics.  What these all break down to is insulin resistance.  So if insulin resistance is a cause of poor eyesight, then doing the opposite could help reverse the damage and help improve eyesight.  Intermittent fasting is fantastic for insulin resistance. It helps normalize your blood sugar, and it helps your body run on ketones, which also helps with blood sugar levels.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods.  The Hidden Cause of Vitamin D Deficiency | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 283

Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! In this podcast, we're going to talk about another important huge cause of a vitamin D deficiency. There are over 1 billion people on this planet that don't have enough vitamin D.  There are many reasons for this big problem. A few causes of a vitamin D deficiency are:  • You don't get enough sun  • You're sitting in front of a computer screen all of the time  • It's almost impossible to get the vitamin D you need from food   • You have insulin resistance   • You consume a lot of sugar and refined carbs  But there's something else that's very important going on. Vitamin D can only work if it connects to a receptor. There is something called the vitamin D receptor (VDR). A few vitamin D benefits are that it helps regulate calcium and supports bone health. But, that's only a small part of what it does.  The vitamin D receptor is responsible for 229 genes. So, this receptor has the ability to create a lot of different effects. A really big function of vitamin D is immune modulation. This means that it can control your immune system to a great extent.  One of the primary strategies used by pathogens is called "successive infection," which means it slows down the immune system by interfering with the vitamin D receptor.  Some microbes that interfere with the vitamin D receptor:  • TB  • Lyme (Borrelia burgdorferi)   • Syphilis   • Leprosy   • EBV  • HIV So, could your vitamin D deficiency be caused by a microbe shutting down the receptor, or could you have a vitamin D deficiency allowing these microbes to invade? If you have an infection, you may want to take vitamin D. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods.  4 Ways to Neutralize Uric Acid | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 199

Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! Today we’re going to talk about how to help decrease uric acid in the body. We’re also going to talk about some of the conflicting information that revolves around that topic.  Uric acid is formed when it’s trying to breakdown purine, which is another compound found in foods. It’s mainly found in organ meats and meats but, it’s in certain vegetables as well.  Uric acid can act as an antioxidant in the body, and that’s one of the reasons it may elevate when you’re doing fasting—as a way to enhance your immune system.  When the pH of your urine becomes too acidic, this uric acid can leak out into the joints and cause gout. It can also leak into the kidneys causing uric acid kidney stones.  Ways to control uric acid levels:  1. Alkalize the body  You can try:  • Consuming potassium citrate  • Consuming more alkaline vegetables  • Taking baking soda  • Taking other alkalizing minerals like magnesium and calcium 2. Apple cider vinegar  3. Vitamin C (from lemons or lemon juice) 4. Reduce glucose and fructose  Uric acid food to avoid:  • Organ meats   • Sardines   • Asparagus   • Spinach   • Green peas  • Cauliflower  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods. TV, radio, the web, and magazines—all of these news outlets could be causing you stress.  Sensationalism: The use of shocking stories at the expense of accuracy to provoke interest.  Get the newspaper, and try to find some good news. Yes, we need to be informed. But do we really need to be informed of the negativity 24/7 everywhere we go?  All of this negativity all of the time may not be good for your health. Consider trying this simple experiment on yourself. Limit the amount of bad news you expose yourself to. As you do this, refocus on some good news instead. I believe your health may actually improve.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods.  Subclinical Hypothyroidism and Zinc Deficiency | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 194

Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! Today we’re going to talk about subclinical hypothyroidism and a zinc deficiency.  Subclinical hypothyroidism is a situation where you have a slow thyroid, but the blood values are still normal. If you’re looking at blood tests alone, you can completely miss this condition.  There are several important trace minerals involved in thyroid function, such as:  • Iodine  • Selenium   • Copper  • Zinc  Zinc is not emphasized enough. Zinc is not only involved in the conversion from T4 to T3 but, it’s also involved in the synthesis of T4 and T3, as well as the thyroid-stimulating hormone. Without enough zinc, you can’t convert these hormones, and you can’t make thyroid hormones. Once you have a hypothyroid condition, you’re going to have a hard time absorbing zinc. Having a slow thyroid may actually cause a zinc deficiency.  If you have any thyroid symptoms, don’t forget about zinc. One great way to get more zinc is to consume more shellfish, sea kelp, or take a supplement.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods.  The #1 Thing Missing in Addiction Recovery | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 346

Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! In this podcast, I want to talk to you about the biggest thing that is missing from addiction recovery.  If you’re recovering from alcohol, for example, you have to realize that alcohol acts like a carbohydrate in the body. However, alcohol itself isn’t a carbohydrate, which means that you’ll have the fluctuations of blood sugar issues.  The symptoms of these blood sugar highs and lows are: • Anxiety • Exhaustion • Moodiness • Cravings • Dizziness • Confusion When you are at something like alcoholics anonymous, for example, you are going to replace alcohol with carbs and sugars—think doughnuts, cookies, and sweetened coffee. What we’re really dealing with are nutrient deficiencies. Addictive substances pull nutrients out of your tissues.  As your blood sugar fluctuates, you develop something called insulin resistance. When you have insulin resistance, you have a difficult time absorbing nutrients in the first place.  So not only is the alcohol (or other substance) causing nutrient deficiencies directly, it also causes nutrient deficiencies by contributing to insulin resistance.  The best things to help combat these problems are:  • Keto • Intermittent fasting • MCT oil • Nutritional yeast • Trace minerals • Vitamin C Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods. On the one hand, there’s a push to have everyone avoid the sun. On the flip side, 69 % of the population has vitamin D insufficiency.  Research indicates that:  • Non-burning sun exposure is associated with a decreased risk of melanomas.   • Getting too much sun, like a sunburn, is associated with doubling the risk of melanomas.  • Outdoor workers have lowered incidences of melanoma than indoor workers.  Realize that vitamin D has a protective function that may help protect from the potential damage to your DNA that the sun can cause.  Does Losing Weight Reduce Insulin Resistance? | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: 347

Talk to a Dr. Berg Keto Consultant today and get the help you need on your journey (free consultation). Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm EST. USA Only. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course! In this podcast, I want to answer the question, “will losing weight reduce my insulin resistance?” Insulin resistance is the thing that comes before diabetes and pre-diabetes. So if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, you also have insulin resistance.  Insulin resistance is a situation where your cells are no longer absorbing insulin, so your body starts producing way more insulin than it should.  In turn, this causes a lot of problems: • Prevents your ability to burn fat • Stores excess amounts of fat • Causes weight to plateau So, if you lose weight, can you help improve insulin resistance?  The answer is this: It all depends on how you lose weight. If you lose weight incorrectly, you are going to gain the weight right back. This is because if you don’t cut back on carbs, you won’t really fix insulin resistance—even if you cut calories and exercise.  Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, 51 years of age is a chiropractor who specializes in weight loss through nutritional & natural methods.
