Our conversation began discussing how many people, including myself, have long ignored this issue. We talked about how daunting and overwhelming the crisis is. This has led many to feel as though they can’t do anything to make a tangible change. Sottile’s recent op-ed at Truthout.org which links climate change to the spread of empire is highlighted. JP talked about the link between US imperialism, the growth of the oil industry, and the damage it has wrought on the environment. We touched on how the Pentagon outwardly acknowledges climate change but continues to exacerbate the underlying problems. Illustrating these points in a discussion on the melting Arctic and the scramble to control its oil is examined. Closing out the first hour, JP touched on the dangers of oil-related products such as plastic. Plastic Planet BPA 911 In the second hour, Jon Gold joined me to discuss some of the latest developments in the unending quest for truth and accountability for 9/11. Attorney General William Barr has until Friday to decide to release the name of the high ranking Saudi official who oversaw the handling of 9/11 hijackers Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi. Jon talked about how listeners can get involved in pushing Barr to release the names. Also covered is, a U.S. federal judge ordering the FBI to release documents related to a probe of the al-Hijji family. The family at issue is from Sarasota, Florida, and its “many connections” to the hijackers including Mohammed Atta are of interest. The conversation concluded talking about the military trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and four others, which is set for January 2021 at Guantanamo Bay. Why the 20 year delayon that legal action? Methods and tactics utilized by the organization ultimately brought about its demise in 1955. The anti-communist activities of The Pond wind up playing a role in the Red Scare. Sometimes Paranoia is not a bad thing until it consumes the practical mind. At one point they even use a serial killer as an asset. Marcel André Henri Félix Petiot (AKA Dr. Satan) was a French doctor and serial killer, convicted of multiple murders after the remains of 23 people were found in his home. He is suspected of the murder of around 60 victims during his lifetime. Chuck contends it is likely there is an unknown trail of bodies that will remain a mystery. Jean (John) Valentin Grombach headed the Pond and is an interesting character who clashed with and eventually was forced to work with rivals in intelligence circles that have names we are quite familiar with. Carmine does an interesting job creating the timeline of events that lead to the rise and fall of the rarely acknowledged piece of US Intelligence history. We focused primarily on the media’s handling of the scandal, and the role they continue to play in covering up the scope of the scandal. Gumby and I talk about the strange behavior of the NY Post coverage since Epstein’s death. G4C discussed the now-infamous photo of Ghislaine Maxwell at In-N-Out Burger. He talked about why the Post ran such a dubious photo and how this confused the public. Later we explored how many media outlets and journalists seem to be re-writing their own histories covering Epstein. We looked at one NPR segment that garnered a lot of attention. Gumby and I discussed NPR’s reliance on journalist John Connolly and how that raises serious red flags. We talked about the contradictory story that Connolly seems to spin regarding Vicky Ward, Graydon Carter, and Epstein. In the second hour, we continued our look into the media and their handling of the Epstein saga. We looked at the NYT’s coverage over the years starting with Landon Thomas Jr. and his almost glowing profiles. We also touched on a recent NYT “The Daily” podcast which featured Maria and Annie Farmer. We looked at how Les Wexner was seemingly erased from Farmer’s story. We round out the episode by looking at the curious case of NY Post reporter Larry Celona, his connections to Stanley Kubrick, and how this factors into the conspiracy culture’s theories on Epstein. We closed out by talking about Steve Bannon and his insertion into the Hong Kong Protests.
