 Matt Halpern – Drummers I Like Podcast #2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:20:59

What's up, guys! Drummers I Like back here with a new episode of our podcast. This week we had the unbelievable honor of interviewing Matt Halpern of Periphery.   As you will hear in the show, Matt, and Richard have known each other since 2009 so we were really stoked to bring on such a good friend and mentor of musicians. As you will learn, Matt is a very busy guy and he always has a lot on his plate. Really, this just means he has a deep passion for everything he does and he loves sharing the knowledge that he's learned over the years with anyone who wants to learn and push to make their dreams a reality. Matt goes over a lot of topics, updates and personal knowledge that will help you succeed on your journey. We discuss the recording of the new Periphery album "the release of their new album, Periphery III: Select Difficulty (The album will be released on July 22nd via Sumerian Records), along with some neat announcements that go along with that. Matt then talks about his role with The Entertainment Institute and explains the mission of one of his newest endeavors. He also talks about TEI's presence on the 2016 Vans Warped Tour and everything we can expect to see. Matt also gets into some of the details of the All Things Periphery Summer Jam and his plans on clinics and what campers can expect when they arrive at Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York. The camp is on July 25-29th 2016. From there, Matt talks about his mindset on being an entrepreneur in the music industry, how he decided to follow his passions, his process for figuring out how to make a living doing what you love and everything you need to keep in mind. Drummers I Like received a lot of user submitted questions for Matt and we are pretty satisfied with our choices and his responses! He gets into questions about his creative process when writing, why he doesn't use top felts on his cymbals and we even talk about his favorite cymbal choice from Meinl . There are some other great questions but you'll have to listen to hear the rest. Thank you! Mr. Matt Halpern. As always we encourage you to visit Matt's Social media, keep up with what he's doing and get yourself set up with some drum lessons. Remember, you can contact Matt directly to book a lesson on his FaceBook. Remember, you can learn more and even book a lesson at The Entertainment Institute Website. And don't forget to grab tickets this Friday (April 29th, 2016) for their upcoming tour with Sikth, Toothgrinder, and Chon! We're still new at this podcast adventure so make sure you leave us your feedback too. Leave a review on Itunes. Rate our shows and send us an email if you have an idea, feedback, or even criticism.
