FASTEST in the United States!   Formula 1 Huge crashat Spa before the first turn takes out Grosjean, Alonso, Hamilton and Perez . Lotus’s Romain Grosjean has been given a one-race ban (Les thinks this is harsh considering how they seem to not be as strict on Maldonado).LINK "We’ll announce the name of his replacement a bit later in the week."Lotus's reserve is former Marussia driver Jerome D'Ambrosio. Maldonado gets a two penalties, totaling 9 this season. The first penalty was handed down for his jump start. The Williams driver received his second grid penalty for this weekend’s race for the crash with Timo Glock. Fan video here: LINK Kimi Raikonnen and Shumacher had a great passing battle. Does that help? Certainly more excitable than it was in the recent past. 2007 when track was changed to a diff style of banking thus allowing more 3 wide racing and passing.   This weekend certainly was attended by a lot more folks. Helmet toss is back! Tony Stewart & Matt Kenseth.  Les thinks they there were racing for the best line and Tony lost.  That helmet could have easily bounced right back in his face. Danica held her own last weekend. Circuit of The Americas entering final stage of ticket sales for 2012 FORMULA 1 “We’ve exceeded our targets for the first year of what will be a multi-year PSL sales campaign,” Circuit Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Geoff Moore said. “We have a limited amount of premium seating in some of PSL areas that we can make available this year.  LINK Circuit of the Americas seeking incentives for solar-power generation.  "As part of our overall sustainability strategy, we're looking pretty hard at having some on-site solar," said sustainability director at COTA Edgar Farrera  LINK Formula 1 Tom Cotter quits as president of New Jersey F1 group.  Tom Cotter, president of Formula 1 Grand Prix of America iis leaving that position at the end of the month.  LINK NASCAR Sprint Cup: Mark Martins strange crash.  LINK Nationwide Series: Montreal Villeneuve denied home win.  When Villeneuve's car appeared to stutter after the white flag, Justin Allgaier took his chance to bump the #22 out of the way and to drive away with the race win, leaving a seething Villeneuve  LINK Danica Patrick gets the boot.  She led 20 laps in the race but quickly fell out of contention after the shoe went under her car and broke her No. 7 Chevrolet's rear axle. Race got pretty predictable after that Lots of complaints about the surface of the infield at Indy.   Some  believe that it is contributing to the high-side accidents and injuries. From Formula 1 Track, 5200 SqF  Right off SH130  LINK F1 still on summer break, next race is Sept 7,8,9 at Monza Ecclestone visits Olympic Park  Bernie Ecclestone paid a weekend visit to London's Olympic Park against a backdrop of F1 being considered as one of four bids involved in the legacy planning of the site once the 2012 games are over.  LINK Reprieve for Nurburgring?   After Nurburgrimg went into administration last month, the Rhineland Palatinate state has injected capital to guarantee loans that the circuit took out as part of a big regeneration programme in 2009. It is hoped that the 2013 German Grand Prix can go ahead as scheduled at the Eifel track after Bernie Ecclestone recently said that the event may have to be moved to Hockenheim. With more than 20% of the current F1 grid from Germany (Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Nico Hulkenberg and Timo Glock) and a rich history, the German race is considered one of those that should be protected although both Nurburgring and Hockenheim have struggled to make the figures add up in recent years despite the home interest. LINK Dodge SRT taking next year off in NASCAR. Dodge could have gone with a smaller team. Furniture Row Racing was interested in moving from Chevy to Dodge. But Dodge wasn't interested. They were spoiled by Penske. Going to a team that holds its annual Media Tour event at one of its furniture stores amid dressers and mattresses just wasn't in the cards.  LINK Dodge is out of NASCAR next year but they are stepping up in ALMS.  A couple of recent developments show Dodge’s commitment to racing...
