On August 7, 2008 Michael Bullock and Linda Aubry Bullock (a.k.a. rise set twilight) performed two separate pieces on Rare Frequency both using location recordings and the techniques of musique concretè. Unfortunately, the CD recorder at the station failed that evening, but Mike and Linda kindly provided recordings of their pieces, which are what you’ll hear on this podcast. Though he’s been my guest twice in the past to select records and chit chat during WZBC fundraisers, Keith Fullerton Whitman’s July 3rd appearance marked his live debut on RF. For whatever reason, the stars aligned and the recording came out particularly well. Perhaps the gods were paying Keith back for introducing me to the wonders of Turkish psych some years back. On March 13, 2008, reedist Ashley Paul performed a live set on RF. Ashley is just about to start a stint as an Artist in Residence at the Issue Project Room in New York City, and has just released her second solo CD, Dol, on Rel Records.   On March 6, 2008 local sound artist, Marc McNulty performed a live set on the program.
