 Goodbye 2018 - Episode #267 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:51

I like to support whatever is trendy so here's my 'year end in review' podcast (another exercise of me talking for almost 30 minutes straight). This episode includes comments about two ultra movies on YouTube that I think are really cool, especially if you're like me and either considering a 100 mile race or have signed up for your first.   Here are the links mentioned in the show: Marathon Investigation Podcast Tunnel Hill 50 and 100 mile Ultra Booneville Back Roads 100 mile Ultra Ultrarunner Rickey Gates Runs Every Street in San Francisco   Music by Garageband, U.S. Marine Band, and the late Derek Miller's Penmachine.

 Run Ashland First! - Map Run Completed - Episode #266 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:10

My local weekly running group finished a project that we called the "Map Run." The project was to run all of the streets in our town. The distance amounted to about 103 miles. Covering the distance wasn't really the hard part. The hard part was to have all four of us show up to do the group runs! We had a great time doing the project and this show has some audio clips about the experience. Music by Garageband, U.S. Marine Band, and the late Derek Miller's Penmachine.

 2018 Richmond Half Marathon Pacing Report - Episode #265 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:51

My co-pacing partner for the Richmond Half Marathon and I had a great time and successfully finished just 4 seconds off the 2:30 pace. Avi has a lot of pacing experience and showed me the ropes. It was a great morning running in the City of Richmond! This show is about that and some funny things that happened along the way! Check out Bruce's podcast about all things running: https://justarunner65.podbean.com/ Music by Garageband, U.S. Marine Band, and the late Derek Miller's Penmachine.

 Pre-Richmond Half Marathon Comments - Episode #264 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:07

I have the privilege of pacing the 2:30 half marathon group for the Richmond (Virginia) Marathon on November 10. This is the first time I've done this. This show has some commentary about that and other upcoming events. Thanks for listening! https://blog.feedspot.com/running_podcasts/ Music by Garageband, U.S. Marine Band, and the late Derek Miller's Penmachine.

 Significant Running Group Changes - Episode #263 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 45:55

My long standing weekly running group has undergone a major change. Not a good thing but not really a bad thing either, just a significant change. In this episode, I talk about Ashland Byan moving from the Ashland area and how that may impact our weekly men's running group. Music by Garageband, U.S. Marine Band, and the late Derek Miller's Penmachine.

Ashland Tom and I ran the 12th annual Patrick Henry Half Marathon on August 25, 2018. Tom has run all 12 events. I've done 11. It's a great course, literally "town and country."   This show has some thoughts on the experience plus some audio clips from the race itself. Thanks for listening!

 Vacation Runs - Episode #261 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 32:37

I've got a 50k mountain trail ultra coming up and I've done no hill training. I wonder how that will work out? Also, the "MAP" run project here in Ashland has been going well and my running buddies and I are having some good fun figuring out how to cover all the roads.  End of Another Good Year - Episode #254 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:10

I've bounced back for the most part from my back injury. I think I can get in some long mileage weeks before the 50 miler on February 3. One of my problems is I have a side job that gets in the way on Saturdays. That and more in this shorter version of the Running in the Center of the Universe podcast. Thanks for downloading the show.    Music by Garageband.

 Injury! - Episode #253 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 37:12

I fell down some steps and hurt my back pretty bad. As a result, I lost two weeks of training. This is not a good situation with a 50 miler scheduled for February 3, 2018 and then a 50k the month after that. This show has my commentary about that and a new "map run" project I hope to start soon.
