Don't forget to stop by ArabicPod101.com for more great Arabic Language Learning Resources! -------Lesson Dialog------- ----Formal ---- بداية و نهاية ، بداية و نهاية مقتبس من رواية الكاتب الحائز على جائزة نوبل نجيب محفوظ. هو الفيلم الأول الذي يحاكي أحد كتبه و تم ترشيحه لجائزة بري الكبرى عام 1961 في مهرجان موسكو السينمائي. الفيلم من إخراج صلاح أبو سيف، من بطولة عمر الشريف ، سناء جميل، فريد شوقي ، أمينة رزق ، صلاح منصور و أمل زايد. فازت سناء جميل بجائزة افضل ممثلة داعمة في مهرجان موسكو السينمائي عام 1961. بداية و نهاية يلقي نظرة على حياة أسرة مصرية في القاهرة بعد وفاة رب الأسرة الذي خلف الأخوة الثلاث ، أختهم و أمهم لكي يتأقلموا بفقدانه. يتحول أحد الأخوة إلى مجرم، و يغادر الآخر للعمل في مدينة أخرى . أما الأخ الأصغر فيكبد أسرته مشكلات مالية خلال متابعته في تحقيق حلمه لكي يصبح ضابط شرطة. تقيم الأخت علاقة مع ابن بائع الخضار و وتنحدر الى المتاجرة بشرفها عندما يرفض أن يتزوجها. ينتهي الفيلم بمأساة بانتحار الأخت و الأخ المجرم في نهر النيل. يعرف الفيلم أيضا بالموت بين الأحياء، بداية و نهاية مصور بالأبيض و الأسود. نجيب محفوظ الذي يعتبر من أفضل الكتاب المصريين، حيث ألف ما يزيد على 50 رواية و 350 قصة قصيرة. قام أيضا بتأليف نصوص مسرحيات و أفلام وتحولت أعماله إلى أفلام ضمن كلا المستويات العالمية و المحلية. المخرج، صلاح أبو سيف، يعتبر في جميع الأوقات من عظماء السينما المصرية. معظم أفلامه التي تفوق 40 فيلم ، تعتبر كلاسيكية و قادت جيل السينما الواقعية في مصر. اختار أن يقتبس العديد من أفلامه من الروايات المصرية و القصص القصيرة و تم ترشيح أعماله لجوائز مهرجان كان السينمائي، مهرجان موسكو السينمائي، مهرجان بيرلين السينمائي، و جمعية الأفلام المصرية. ----Formal English---- Bidaya wa Nihaya (A Beginning and an End) An Egyptian film release in 1960, Bidaya wa Nihaya is based on the novel by Nobel Prize winning writer Naguib Mahfouz. It was the first film adapted to one of his books and it was nominated for the Grand Prix award at the 1961 Moscow Film Festival. Directed by Salah Abouseif, it stars Omar Sharif, Sanaa Gamil, Farid Shawki, Amina Rizk, Salah Mansour, and Amal Zayed. Sanaa Gamil won for best supporting actress at the 1961 Moscow Film Festival. Bidaya wa Nihaya looks at the lives of an Egyptian family in Cairo after the death of the family patriarch. Three brothers, their sister and mother and the ones left behind to cope. One brother becomes a criminal, another leaves to work in another city and the youngest causes his family financial problems as he pursues his dream of becoming a police officer. The sister has an affair with the grocer`s son and she is pushed into prostitution when he refuses to marry her. The film ends in tragedy with the sister and criminal brother both committing suicide in the Nile. Also known as Dead Among the Living, Bidaya wa Nihaya was shot in black and white. Considered one of Egypt's best writers, the author Naguib Mahfouz has written over 50 novels and 350 short stories. He has also composed plays and movie scripts and his work has been turned into films at both the local and international levels. The director, Salah Abouseif, is considered an all-time great of Egyptian cinemas. Most of his over 40 movies are considered classics and he led the genre of realistic cinema in Egypt.
