“Blair Witch Project’s” Michael C. Williams | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Blair Witch Project actor Michael C. Williams talks about shooting the film, what it was like to go from furniture mover to movie star to furniture mover in less than two years and the never before told story of the mysterious hat. (FULL TRANSCRIPT OF THE SHOW BELOW) We go from the biggest independent film to the “worst.” Then writer/director Glenn Berggoetz who’s latest film called “Worst Movie Ever” took in a whopping $11. He’s an indie filmmaker who mastered the art of shooting an entire film for under $2,000. Watch the trailer for his tribute to terrible films everywhere. You probably remember Moviefone named the Blair Witch Project Project the number one viral movie campaign. In fact that movie launched a thousand web sites. One of the stars of the movies with us Michael Williams It's not just an actor but one of the guys who played the sound guy that kicked them out. One of my closest friends from school. Mike Williams thank you for being here. I'm not sure what this guy is talking about I've never heard. How are you. Absolute pleasure to be here. Yes this is to the good friend of mine one of my best friends from our Super Bowl days. Yes. I remember them. I mean it's a remarkable story because this movie was not supposed to do any business at all right. No it wasn't it was actually rated by my family as the biggest waste of time I could have possibly done. When I showed them 20 minutes of footage at Thanksgiving 1997 when I've been working on a live setting out talking about the like oh great we have that big near us know that a curtain and sisters and my girlfriend who's now my wife and we all sit down watching this 20 minutes of this weird footage and they're just like. All right. Is it time for pumpkin pie. Yes. How did this hadn't been put together at all and strung together it made no sense to them and they didn't know what they were watching it. You know they were right it was pretty much it looked like this lousy footage of a bunch of people yelling each other in the woods. So even at that point I thought yeah you're not getting it you're not Can't wait to put this thing together. Everything will be what ever when we're shooting it I thought it's pretty cool. Do some pretty different here. You know he's obviously we real or something you just have to show friends. I thought it would be at best. In fact I thought it had a good chance of being some underground cult. You know VHS tape that would go around you know from teenager to teenager or a college kid to college kid. And we get some you know some cool underground success you know not not on like the band at the time underground you know that kind of scene but that's about it. That be the best case scenario. We got remember we got into Sundance thinking this today like this is the pinnacle of success. So I'm going to see we're not going to get distribution or anything. Little bit I didn't really know what that word at the time but I certainly didn't think it was getting any further than a film festival. You know I was excited to get it to Sunday. I find out about it. Well there was there was an open casting call in Backstage magazine in New York where I was living in Astoria Queens at the time. I'd been there for actually only a few months just moved in from Westchester after graduating Newport and working for a year st...

“Solarbabies” by Mel Brooks? W/ Christian Finnegan | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Solarbabies was produced by Mel Brook’s film company. Comedian Christian Finnegan (“Best Week Ever”) joins us to talk about that classic 80’s post apocalyptic thriller… no not that one… the other one…no other other one…  “Solarbabies!”  Watch the movie here. “Solarbabies” is film where orphans roller skate on sand and pray to a glowing bowling ball. (Well, when you put it that way, the movie sounds silly.) Lots of great actors got their start in “Solarbabies,” (James Legros, Luca Hass, Adrian Pasdar, Jamie Gertz, that guy from “Blow”  and a glowing bowling ball).  Also a couple of great actors finished there (A sleepwalking Charles Durning). David Blaine – waitering secrets revealed. I talk about waiting tables in New Jersey with the future magician. He gave his secret for getting big tips…Lying. Listen to the podcast to find out what famous comedian produced Solarbabies. Leave your comments on our Facebook Page. Christian also talks about the myth of the “token white guy” and some of the great people he got to work with on “Are We There Yet?” Mel Brooks did an interview for “How Did this Get Made” telling them how “Solarbabies” was made and how it almost ruined him.  /Film has a transcript on their website of the “Solarbabies” interview. Here’s part of that interview. You can read the whole thing here.  From /Film: Mel Brooks: This wacky mashugana film in Spain that’s not really happening. So I go back [laughing] to Morgan and I say, “Give me another $10 million, and I’ll give you more interest of, you know.” And for some reason they listened to me, which was a mistake on all our parts. They gave me another $10 million. Okay. Now…so this $5 million movie is costing $23 million and it’s being shot in Spain. Anyway, they finished the movie—Alan finished it—and there was some storyline and there were a couple of good performances. And there was something like a movie [laughing], it was very close to being a movie. So they brought it back and I needed another $2 million to finish it, for special effects or something. I needed another $2 million and somehow, I don’t know where I got it, but I got it. And now I gotta pay Morgan Guaranty back a lot of money. I’m broke. This film…people are coming to my house and my wife is saying, “Who are these people in our kitchen?” I said, “No, I’m just getting a little more insurance.” But really I’m getting a second mortgage on the house. I had two cars, I put them up. I mean, I’m practically ready to jump off a roof, you know? Blake Harris: Yeah. Mel Brooks: I mean a roof like the Empire State Building, I’m ready to go. Because I am legally broke and in debt for the first time in my life. Seriously in debt. I go to Alan Ladd. First of all, I stay up for 2-3 nights in a row without sleeping and I make a phony baloney trailer so it looks like Star Wars. It looks like the greatest thing—it looks like it’s going to be the greatest sci-fi picture ever made—a fairy tale in space. Irresistible! I make a 10-minute trailer. I take it to all the studios. I almost got Michael Eisner—where was he at the time? Paramount, and then went to Disney—and he said, “I’ll give you back the money.” He’s gonna give me back the $23 million, it’s gonna be his picture, you know? But [then-Paramount president of production Jeffrey] Katzenberg said “no.” So anyway, this movie is now, like, I hear the death knell. I hear a bell tolling late at night. I can’t sleep.

Rob Schrab Eats “Deadly Prey” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Rob Schrab (Sarah Silverman Program, Heat Vision and Jack) joins us to proudly resent “Deadly Prey.” It’s an ultra violent low-budget Rambo rip off. Speaking of rip offs, the star cuts off a bad guy’s arm and beats him with it. It’s a wonderfully flawed film with lots of “WTF” moments. Download the movie here. Or watch on Youtube below. But whatever you do, Don’t Get Danton! Rob talks about some of the best bad movies he’s seen and how they helped shape his career, Channel 101 and his involvement in “Everything is Terrible.” Check out… Channel 101 Everything is Terrible Horrible Movie Night Cinefamily Movies mentioned on the show: Devil dog, Snake Eater 2, Hell Ride, Samurai Cop, Troma, Full Harvest, The Last Dragon, Sinbad, Story of Ricky O, Rotor, Drive Angry, Nic Cage, Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Asylum Films, Grind house, Kill Bill, Kill Bill 2,

The Tommy Wiseau Interview! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Tommy Wiseau interview! This Tommy Wiseau interview was mostly him promoting his new web series. Which is fine. It’s a funny interview.  You can watch his show below.  Tommy won’t answer any of the questions about the movie. He would only promote this terrible show about playing video games. So I asked him his favorite games and he wouldn’t tell me. I finally just started and ended each sentence by plugging his book. Then I gave him a big compliment and he turned around. If you are looking for an interview with Tommy Wiseau that will explain the film, good luck finding one. This interview is pure Tommy fun. If you listen carefully enough, you can hear my head explode. Before watching “The Disaster Artist” listen to an interview with the real man! The writer, director, star of the “Citizen Kane of Bad Films” talks about the musical version of his cult hit “The Room,” the violence is in all of us and what he really thinks of the “mainstream press.” Normally super secretive about his past,  he also accidentally revealed he summered in Hawaii growing up.  Jaws 4, Nicko 0 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Nicko & Adam review “Jaws the Revenge.” It’s a story of a shark who is out to kill the family that killed his dear old dad. It’s like “Kill Bill,” but with sunscreen and terrible Jamaican accents. Oh and it’s a shark, not a person.  Michael Caine phones it in, Mario Van Peebles forgets what movie he’s in and there’s a fair amount of terrible kid acting.    Hear about Nicko’s voyage to NYC! Her love affair with a random cab driver. Why did she fall asleep with French toast on her face? Another visit from Luggage Tuesdays! Write us at Proudpod@gmail.com.

 Gary Busey Plays a Dog w/ @Adamfelber and @Sullybaseball | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Writer/director Paul Sullivan, NPR’s Adam Felber (“Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me”) & I recap “Quigley.” You know the movie where Gary Busey plays a mean computer game business type guy who is turned into a dog. As a dog, Gary  learns about life, flimsy sets, terrible special effect, non-comedic timing and how to sleep through a role. “Quigley”  also features Booger, Patrick from “SpongeBob,” Christopher Atkins, the black guy from “Dream On” (he’s also the guy from “The Parkers”).  Anthony Perkins’ son plays it straight as a fallen angel. The movie has everything: bad sets, bad lines and even a crew member walking in front of a camera. To be fair, it could just be a pushy extra who likes to wear vests and carry lights. All these elements make a very fun film. Sullivan talks about directing his low-budget comedy “I’ll Believe You,” and how he almost got comedian Chris Elliott eaten by an alligator. Here are some choice clips of “Quigley.” It’s from the “Found Footage Festival.” I don’t know what’s “found” about it. Did they “find” it in a bargain bin? Anyway, thanks for editing this for me to “borrow.” I have just started the “Borrowed Clip Fest.”
