Anna Nicole Smith: Behind the Tragic End | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Anna Nicole Smith’s last film was “Illegal Aliens.” David Giancola directed that ill fated film and made a documentary about his insane experience. The movie has lots of footage of Anna on and off camera.  David and I talk via Skype about making both b-movies like Anna’s last “Illegal Aliens” and the documentary “Addicted To Fame.”  We also talk about making films in Vermont, shooting bar mitzvahs, using media and being used by media and truth behind Howard K. Stern.  Plus local rock legend: Johnny Azer. He’s great. I booked him on a TV show 10 years ago. He was great. His YOUTUBE video is at the bottom of the page  (Listen here) And oh yeah, David’s first film “Time Chasers” is a MST3K staple. From their official website: “ADDICTED TO FAME” is the hilarious, outrageous, and ultimately tragic true story of one filmmaker’s journey from obscurity to moral blindness in the seductive glare of the media spotlight. Director DAVID GIANCOLA wanted to break out by making a “Movie that mocked B-Movies”. He thought he could manipulate the media by casting ANNA NICOLE SMITH. In the end the media manipulated him instead as his star and one of his Producers died in a media feeding frenzy. The film bombed but the story was the most reported event of 2007 – behind only coverage of the Iraq war. The truth is always stranger and more unbelievable than fiction… Watch movie here.

Writing “The Main Event” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:41

The writer of Barbra Streisand & Ryan O’Neal’s “The Main Event,” talks about making the boxing rom-com.  Andrew Smith exposes how the movie was pitched, why it was really made and what it was like to work with super producer Jon Peters. Andrew also spills what it was like to write for SNL – the Eddie Murphy years. Welcome to Proudly resents. This show is for Bucky Sinister. My friend Andrew Smith was on an earlier show talking about what it was like to have written the Madonna flop “Who’s that girl?” Andrew and I worked on the view together, where he wrote jokes for Joy Behar. To help promote the show, I’ve been trading promos with shows that I enjoy. So today we have two promos for shows I think you might be into. One is from Wayne Henderson who does a show about the TV show Fringe and The Hollywood Outsider. If you want to trade promos email me proudpod@gmail.com. Here’s the Kevin Smith story about meeting Jon Peters. MST3K’s Kevin Murphy Talks Tom Servo “Road House” – Behind the Scenes More Semi-professional show notes below: Nominate a movie for the Resenties! Call our hotline and tell us the best good/bad movie you saw this year. Doesn’t matter when it came out. As long as you saw it this year. I’ll play all the nominations and announce the winners at our live show in NYC in January at the NY Podcast festival. More details to come. Details for the nominations at the very end of the show from Eddie Pepitone and on our website, Proudlyresents.com/nominate. You can go to Proudlyresents.com to sign up for a free month of Netflix and I’ll send you a list of good stuff to watch.  “Alienator” Vs. Nicko | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:23

Outtakes from Keith & the Girl and Nicko’s brush with fame. My tale of visiting the Neverland Ranch and other such stuff. Plus we review “Alienator.” To keep the shows under an hour, sometimes I pull stories from different shows. If they are good, I saved them. If I put them on Audacity they get erased. These two stories have been saved. I’ve been meaning to add them. Sometimes I add them to the very end of the show. Here I talk about going to the Neverland Ranch, one guest admits to borrowing cable TV and Nicko talks about befriending Bil Hicks and Stephan Fry. Then we review “Alienator” – this week’s offering at “Horrible Movie Night” in Hollywood. It’s an old show that’s on the website still but not on Itunes. Since it’s being featured this Saturday night, I thought it would be a good time to replay it. It features HMN’s John Mathot and Eric “Danger” Nyenhuis. John runs HMN. John’s description of “Alienator” from his website: From legendary & prodigious cult movie director Fred Olen Ray, this 1985 picture has a bit of a split-personality.  The first half takes place on a prison ship cruising through the galaxy.  Jan-Michael Vincent plays the captain (along with P.J. Soles from “Stripes”), who is supervising the execution of the notorious criminal Kol.  Naturally, Kol escapes and high-tails it to Earth, where he enters the second, completely different section of the movie.  Kol runs into a group of drunken college kids, and they are all soon being pursued by an unstoppable female cyborg.  Who is the good guy?  Who is the bad guy?  Who knows?  And ultimately, who cares?   “Alienator” is an ungodly amount of fun.  Jan-Michael Vincent has the helmetest of helmet hair in a thoroughly constipated performance that’s amazing to behold.  We also Kol’s breathless method acting as he tries to acclimate to Earth’s atmosphere.  And let’s not forget to mention the female terminator (not to be confused with “Lady Terminator“), whose laser blasts can vaporize a car, but can also be deflected by a trash can lid.  Oh, and she wears golf cart hubcaps on her boobs.   -=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Saturday, November 17th, 2012 8PM (doors 7:30) NerdMelt Showroom 7522 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, Calif., 90046 $8 in advance ($10 at the door) -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Nicko enjoys”Aerobi Cide” AKA “Killer Workout” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 52:56

We  talk about “Aerobi Cide” AKA “Killer Workout.” A movie so nice they named it twice. The killer in this film uses a safety-pin… I’m sorry, a giant novelty store, baby Huey sized safety-pin. The movie also offers lots of bad dialogue and tons of 80’s aerobic outfits. You can watch the movie uncensored right here, below! Watch it, tell us what you think.Listen to the podcast! From IMDB.com Two years ago, a young woman named Valerie was burned after entering a tanning salon. Now, her twin sister, Rhonda runs a local gym where all of a sudden, people are being murdered. The director found it very hard working with the director of photography because “He had no respect at all for me and fought me all the way on every single thing we shot.” Proudpod@gmail.com (646) 481-5476 @Proudlyresents Watch the full movie for free after the jump: Below, my semi professional notes.  Chris Gore, Jenna Busch & R2D2 – “Heartbeeps” Live! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 53:11

We talk Andy Kaufman’s Heartbeeps with Chris Gore, Jenna Busch, Conan/Tonight show writer Josh Comers, comedian Brent Weinbach and R2-D2 (Tommy Bechtold) to talk robot love. Plus Tony Clifton tells racist jokes! Heartbeeps In August Chris Gore asked if I wanted to do a live show where his show “Podcrash” crashes my live show of “Proudly Resents.” Of course I said yes, but I had not idea what I was getting myself into. Listen to the show and behind the scenes stuff on today’s episode. The real Tony Clifton called in the show. He was friends with Andy and something to do with making “Heartbleeps.” In fact, Andy had to do “Heartbleeps” first before they made the Tony Clifton movie. “Heartbleeps” bombed so bad, the TC film was never made. It’s amazing to hear Tony tell the most racist jokes ever. The audience is packed with people dress in cosplay. It was cool to see people dressed as sexy elves get offended. I had to hang up on him. Since he won the “Andy Kaufman Award” I asked Brent Weinbach to do stand up on the show. In honor of Kaufman, I had Brent only do his visual jokes. It seemed like a good idea at the time. This was a fun and funny show. Great times. Watch “Heartbeeps” on Netflix free! Enjoy Comicon Listen to past live shows… “A live Tribute to Troma” With Christian Finnegan (Late Late Show) Mike C. Birdemic With Eric Schaeffer, Frank Conniff (MST3K), Bryan Tucker (SNL head writer) and music from Rob Paravonian. Recorded at the first NYC Podfest. “Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas” with guests Jimmy Pardo, Todd Levin (Conan) and comedian Sharon Houston (Punk’d) Recorded at the world-famous Melrose Improv.
