Tales of Two Capitals | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

3 Hours and 6 minutes of material from 604 and the 70’s Capital Pirate 226 Dublin (which like 604 was closed down by the government of the day)- in essence the two lost Capitals in the brand which sound uncannily similar. Great compilation – Tony Newman mid morning show, Dave Simons Retro Capital Countdown, Phil Wright Tribute with Darren Scott, Sasha Montinego, Leon Economides and Phil himself, Dublin Saturday Sports Special with Ian Mcdowell, Chris Barry and Tony Allen and Solid Gold Sunday with Kevin Savage including a cameo cut from a 1974 Kenny Everett breakfast show.

Its a show I’d like to dedicate to Glen Pritchard who was such a stalwart of the Facebook show and Podcast. Glen’s last post on the page was a picture of his DX Rig and I’ve attached a copy. If you decide to put the show on the podcast, if its possible could you insert the photo as a background to the item. The photo gave me the idea for the title Talk, Tunes and a World of Radio on 604. If you look at the radio in the pic, its obvious Glen was an AM and Shortwave enthusiast and in addition to listening to 604 he must have trawled the airwaves. So the show while 75% CR 604 also has clips from Radio Caroline, Capital London and the last SA Top 30 on Springbok Radio on 27-12-1985. The presenters include Tony Blewit, Steve Smith,Dave Collins (Caroline),Alan Pearce,Craig Johnston Interviewing Kevin Savage, Kevin Savage +Barry Lambert,Roger Scott(Capital London), Charlotte Levine, David Gresham (Springbok Radio) and Peter Chamberlain. The Roger Scott piece is a London Capital Hitline so its actually quite marvellous to be able to compare the 604 and 194 versions of the show and I actually think the 604 version comes out on top. The show was conceived by me and as usual Albert Makume engineered it for me. All the Non 604 material came from You Tube posts I found over the years..

Capital Prime Time (A Compilation) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Capital Primetime - a compilation by Adrian Horwitz: – a Nineties Steve Bishop Breakfast Show, a 1985 Barry Ronge Sunday Affair Show, a Kevin Savage drive show and a Capital London 1986 Retro chart ( put together from three fragments already lying amongst the open material on You Tube), news from Julian Potter and the ending from the 2010 Birthday show which was too long for the podcast at the time.
