Giants sign Alex Wood to $3M deal

Locked On Giants – Daily Podcast On The San Francisco Giants show

Summary: On today's Locked On Giants podcast, host Ben Kaspick talks about the San Francisco Giants signing left-handed pitcher Alex Wood to a one-year, $3M contract that includes up to an additional $3M in performance bonuses. Giants GM Scott Harris said last week on MLB Network Radio that the club was hopeful it would add a lefty starter in the coming weeks, and only a couple of days later, they announced the signing of Wood. Wood has been a good and underrated pitcher in his career, but the last couple of seasons have been poor and injury ravaged for the 30-year-old southpaw. However, Giants President of Baseball Operations said that he believed Wood was on track to be healthy and productive again in 2021. The Giants have pieced together a decent rotation, but would be wise to continue adding. A large number of the top free agents are still unsigned this offseason.
