Siros Vaziri – Drummers I Like Podcast – #55

Drummers I Like Podcast show

Summary:
Well Hello, there Drummers! Welcome back to episode 55 of the podcast
Today we are joined by Siros Vaziri. Siros is a clinician, educator, session drummer, and live performer. He also endorses Drumtacs and Meinl Cymbals. Siros is an incredibly humble drummer and we are glad to have him on the show.
About our guest

Siros Vaziri is a professional freelance drummer from Mariestad, Sweden. At the age of 22, he is an avid content creator, drum instructor, studio session drummer, drum clinician and live band drummer. At the center of his career lies his activity on social media, where he’s a highly visible and familiar name to drummers worldwide.
In this EpisodeThe Persian Grind:
Siros will be the first to tell you that it’s not what you have it’s what you know, and hearing his story about how he has turned his dream into his reality you can understand why. The Swedish drummer has taken what he had, a smartphone, and a drum kit, and grew it into inspiration not only for drummers but for dreamers. I think I can guess his Rapid Singles answer but you will have to listen to find out.
The Fill Guy Theory:
If you want to land your next gig I recommend avoiding these daily fill lessons, but if you want to learn very creative one of a kind fills to deepen your arsenal of chops then definitely check out the Daily Fill lessons that Siros posts. Siros sticks to what he knows and that’s communicating to others and educating them. One of the ways Siros knows how to do this by teaching fills both online and in person.
The 80/20 Theory:
Siros uses this Theory while creating his content for various social media channels as well as in his set-up. Siros plays on a Tama Hyper-Drive Birch kit and layers on the cymbals. For Siros the knowledge of how to tune, and change drums goes a long way and with cymbals each is unique and can’t be changed or tuned so easily thus making 80% of Siros’ focus go towards his cymbals.
Rapid Singles1. All you have is $500, a smartphone, and small portable drum set. What would you do first?Start the same way as I did 3 years ago, create content and post on social media.
ClosingIt’s clear that Siros is the real deal and today’s show had us thinking one thing. Personality is everything and no matter how good you are at drums, how sick your videos are or who you know…Only one thing matters. Be a cool hang. Be the coolest hang you can be and remember that 20% of your actions are going to make up 80% of your outcomes!
