19. Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: The Morning Breakfast Sessions (Tuesday 26th May 2020)

Summary: 19. Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management presents a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production The Morning Breakfast Sessions: Tuesday 26th May 2020 Derek is off down to the beach with Mrs Chiswick.  He is looking forward to 'slapping some oil on her'. Since slapping is now 'frowned upon' (as Derek puts it), (that would be unlawful I think Derek), heading down to the beach is seemingly Derek's only chance, these days, to administer some 'light and gentle pain' to his beloved wife.  You just would not have thought it...some people can really surprise you. Ideally, Derek would love to get the 'mini barbecue' out (tin foil tray) and start sizzling some sausages down on the sand.  But unfortunately, that is not allowed until 6pm.  And Derek and Mrs Chiswick cannot spend a whole day on the beach in the hot sun, just for a 6pm sausage - their sensitive 67-year old skin will be singed to a cinder... So, Derek is off to avoid the rush, and therefore Mike will have to do the show all 'on his tod'.  And that means without the support of Derek in the wings, and his face regularly peeping out from behind the thick, red, velvet, triple-lined stage curtains, and the countless, encouraging thumbs up that he happily sends Mike's way.  It's a great presence to have.  And clearly Derek enjoys the songs - especially the older ones from he 1960s.  Mike usually has to perform his set whilst contending with the thudding of the floorboards that are transmitted from the dancing of Derek.  It's a very solid 4/4 beat thankfully, which is fairly accurately in time with the music most of the time.  Unless Derek has had his lunchtime whiskey, of course... PodCast♯19 - a podcast that seemed to take an age to put together.  Riptide and There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back went alright.  But Mike is clearly getting more fussy with the material he's putting out there. So, those two songs were recorded and inserted.  As well as several overdubs for Don't Stop... Hope you enjoy this selection of songs.
