14. Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: The Evening Sunset Sessions (Wednesday 13th May 2020)

Summary: 14. Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management presents a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production The Evening Sunset Sessions: Wednesday 13th May 2020 Three recordings tonight.  I suppose the lesson is - don't perform a song unless you know it pretty well. During this session, that really applied to one song in particular (Billie Eilish). Everything I Wanted went kind of ok at the time, but there was a good chunk (20%) at the end which I didn't really know too well.  So, I made a recording and have (cheekily) slotted into this podcast!  Hey - you guys get the good version in this podcast so don't complain! Human, Rag'n'Bone man, went pretty well..but there was one really high note in the bridge, which I squeaked like a hamster (the sound of a hamster squeaking is never pleasant).  I could have just dubbed in the one note..but I wanted to make a nice recorded version. And whilst I was in recording mode, I thought, well let's just do If Tomorrow Never Comes too, as there was some mis-timing of the vocal at the beginning (due to not hearing the beat of the track very well in the headphones). It's nice to make a decent recording of a song.  These 'live' renditions in these podcasts are a nice example of how I sound in a 'live' performance setting.  However, focusing on one single song, and taking a couple of hours to make a nice recording of a song definitely has its merits, and is, in some ways, more satisfying and lasting, I suppose, than a 'live' performance in the moment, that comes and goes.  Once in a while, you can be really in the moment during a 'live' performance, and capture a good recorded version of it. So - the amount of time dedicated to making these podcasts leaves me in kind of a quandary:  I am spending so much time editing these podcasts, that part of me feels that this time could be better spent on focusing on making nice recordings... Anyway, we will carry on with these 'live' performances and podcasts for a little while yet. Thanks again for listening to them, and for coming back.  I hope you are enjoying them.
