12. Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: 75th Anniversary VE Day Special Concert (Wartime Songs) (Friday 8th May 2020)

Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment: 'Live' - The PodCast (People Pleasing Music Company Ltd in association with Authentic Promotions Agency and Derek Chiswick Management presents) show

Summary: 12. Today's Episode People Pleasing Music Company Ltd (incorporating Publishing and Management) in association with Authentic Promotions Agency, Enigma Artistes Internacional, Surreal Events, Angry House Productions and Derek Chiswick Management presents a: Mike Sidaway Music Entertainment Production 75th Anniversary VE Day Special Concert (Wartime Songs): Friday 8th May 2020 Mike Sidaway performs a special 'live' concert to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. All songs from the Wartime period (Second World War) of 1939 to 1945 by Dame Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields and The Andrews Sisters - some more well-known than others.  Twelve 'live' renditions of songs on the day, plus three extra bonus tracks (recorded, not 'live'). At the end of the concert (55:40), I've also included eight extra songs by the original artists (Dame Vera Lynn, Anne Shelton, The Andrews Sisters and Flanagan And Allen).  I had used parts of these songs for 'filler' music over the talking in between my renditions of the songs, so I thought it would be nice to put them all at the end, if anyone is interested in hearing the full versions. I hope you enjoy these songs.  They're not ones that I perform on a regular basis (plus my policy regarding practice is set at a maximum of four percent!), and they are 'live' versions - so the vocal performance is not guaranteed to be the best!  Ok, that's the excuses over with... It was really nice to put on this special concert, and a pleasure to perform these songs.  We had some residents from care homes tuning in to listen on the day (thank you to the activities ladies for organising that). So, I hope you enjoy this podcast, and get some pleasure from listening to it.  And, for the older generation, I hope that listening to this doesn't bring back too many sad memories - I hope it also brings back some happy ones too. Thank you very much for listening.   Songs Today 1. Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree (With Anyone Else But Me), The Andrews Sisters (1939) 2.
