Summary: The life of Prophet Muhammad(SAW) before he became a Prophet is often overlooked. We often think of âIqraâ as the beginning of everything. He was at the age of 40 years old when he received the first revelation from Allah. He then passed away at the age of 63, after 23 years of being a Prophet. Therefore for a huge part of his lifetime, he is not preaching any message, yet for us, we ignore that timeframe.<br> <br> We know that Allah had already planned to appoint him as the Prophet(S) but neither he nor anyone else knew that until the first revelation. Those 40 years were a necessary precursor for the next 23 years of his life. You would not have had the success of those 23 yrs if you hadnât had those 40 years before. There were several incidents that demonstrate what our Prophet(SAW) was doing in those 40 years before the next 23. He already a very powerful community leader even before all of this happened.
