Pallone- Acid-Base physiology, a tale of NH3

Maryland CC Project show

Summary: Today we welcome Dr. Thomas Pallone, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology here at the University of Maryland. In addition to being a brilliant clinician, Dr. Pallone also spent time doing research at the Medical Engineering Medical Sciences division of the HST program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is safe to say, he is one of the most brilliant minds we have at Maryland and today he takes an hour to give us a simplified look at the way the kidneys deal with acids and bases. This talk will give you a common sense look at renal physiology and just might give you the information you need to crack the next complex renal failure case!
