In a survey conducted by a Deloitte research team, six in ten physicians, or 60 percent, said they are planning to retire from the medical field early. The same 60 percent say the medical field is in jeopardy, for it no longer belongs to the experts. Physicians fear the medical field will seem more like an assembly line, where time is limited and patients are rushed in and out of the door without the time that's needed in appointments.
