Here's Some Cheese To Go With Your Cheerwine | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:53

In this episode, you're going to hear about cheese and Cheerwine.  Ashe County cheese is the most famous in the state and there is and can only be one Cheerwine. In usual form, I'm going to give you a rundown on the history of cheese before I bring it on home to NC, followed by the history of soda and the creation of that famous red cola. I am in a bit of a rough shape during this recording, which I address from the start, but again, I apologize if that takes away from the content of this episode.     In this episode I'm going to tell you about The Linville Gorge. The Gorge has several nicknames including "The Grand Canyon Of The East,"  and "The Crown Jewel Of The Blue Ridge." I would say that both of those names are fitting because this amazing place is one if the most beautiful natural wonders that I have ever seen.     The Gorge isn't just a beautiful canyon. It contains Linville Falls, Wiseman's View, and Daffodil Flats. It also comes with a really interesting backstory that spans a billion years and includes The Cherokee and John D. Rockerfeller Jr.     Don't forget, if you like this episode, you can subscribe so you never miss one and if you want to support The NC Everything Podcast, the best way to do that is with a rating and a review.     Check out the links below for more NC Everything Podcast options.      Thanks for listening! *Content begins at - 3:49 *The music in this episode comes from archesaudio.com and freepd.com LINKS: The NC Everything Podcast Website Contact The Facebook Group The YouTube Channel --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nceverything/support
