Summary: Love in action is listening to understand, not to react. This is not a podcast about discussing spiritual deconstruction, reconstruction, contemplation or The Bible. There are numerous podcasts that do that...we know because we love and listen to them constantly. Our intent is taking all that we know and believe at the time and live it out in a conversation while sitting at a literal or figurative table. Friend and fellow Podcaster, Eli Sirota, comes to the table to talk about his personal struggle with an eating disorder, anorexia. February 26th to March 4th is National Eating Disorder Awareness week and he felt a special calling to offer his story to anyone who would listen. He also wanted it to go out to the world during the same week. So, we invited him to the table and are dropping a special episode to join him in the fight. Friend and fellow Podcaster Alex Stein, host of the Tell Me Who You Are Podcast, accepts Sean McCoy’s invitation to Come to the Table to talk about interacting with people. It is one of the most basic aspects of life but dealing with people can be one of the most difficult things we encounter…especially with those are different. However, with patience, kindness and a will to get past our insecurities we most often find out we have more in common with people that things we do not.
Fellow Mixed Mental Artist and friend of Host Sean McCoy accepts the invite to talk about the ongoing journey...the evolution...of his faith and why it is always an ongoing process and not a static thing.
One of my best friends, Chris Cappello, accepts the invitation to come to the table and talk about music. Music is seen by many as food for the soul but it can also be a point of contention in society when the expression is not well received.
This short 7 minute episode is to respond to listener feedback, a confession about Jim Burgoon's Part 2 episode and some others as well as a few minutes discussion around an email from a friend that was nice but very critical of religion. We also hope it's a short episode our listeners can share with others to tell them what coming to the table is and is not.
