Project Grand Slam with Robert Miller | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1024

You can win even in the difficult situations ~ AltoviseEach person would love to have the perfect circumstances when they are attempting to achieve their goals. So what would be the perfect scenario for you? What would be the perfect age? What would be the perfect amount to have in your bank account? By now you are starting to see a pattern...well at least I hope you are seeing the pattern. There is no perfect ____________ (Time, age, financial support) that will trump the way that adversity can motivate you. It has been the way that people have become great leaders. Think about the lessons and opportunities that came during moments when you things felt like they weren't going to get better. The "big leap" story or the "overcome"story is valued because people can relate to the tough times and look at th egood times as motivation. Robert's nuggets: ~ Life can tend to derail your childhood goals but those goals are still valid~ Ask yourself, "What am I waiting for?" ~ Following your dream makes you joyful~ You NEED an action plan to keep you moving forward even when something knocks you off track~ Your service can be what someone else needs to not just survive...but to thrive Robert became a rockstar in his sixties after deciding to take a leap and go for his dreams. In this episode he shared what it looked like for him and how the steps he took can mirror the steps necessary for success by anyone. Even though he has been able to achieve success in certain areas, the pandemic shifted things for him and his band. One thing that stood out the most was that his desire to put out music was because he felt that music could be his way of helping others through the pandemic. He was leading with service through song. Meet Robert: Robert Miller is the creative force behind Project Grand Slam, as the leader, bassist, and composer for the band.Says Robert: “In 2015 I completely reorganized the band and our music. Since then it’s been a whirlwind.” PGS plays a unique fusion of Rock and Jazz with a twist of Latin. Plus Robert’s reimagining of iconic ‘60s hits. Plus PGS has had tens of thousands of Likes, Shares, and Comments on social media. PGS today consists of Robert supported by a group of extremely talented, mainly foreign-born musicians from places like Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Along with this reconfiguration, Robert has transformed the band’s music, consisting mainly of original vocal songs but also some instrumentals. This transformation started on 2015’s Made In New York album which included Robert’s reimagined version of Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire” plus his “New York City Groove”. Both songs became staples in the band’s live performances and “Fire” remains the band’s concert closer to this day.In each succeeding year, PGS has recorded at least one new album. Robert’s songs channel his love for rock music, jazz fusion, and ‘60s British Invasion hits. With this eclectic mix, Robert has blazed a completely original path for PGS.The appeal of the band has been widespread, from Millennials to Baby Boomers, from rock to jazz, from domestic to international.2020 has been an extremely difficult year for everyone. PGS had festival appearances and a European tour canceled. But Robert focused the band on what could be achieved during the pandemic. Fortunately, PGS had just finished recording its newest album, East Side...

Your Story Can be Next with Steve McChesney | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1370

Many of you have fallen into a flow of Netflix and chill or Disney childhood throwback shows throughout the pandemic. Don't fret...this is a nonjudgement zone. I simply want to ask you a question...What if your story was the next story on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon? It starts with you seeing the value of your own story. Then, once you value your story, you need a strategy to not only own that story but to share it. "No matter who you are, your story is important to not just you, but for those around you" ~ SteveSteve's nuggets: ~ Determine how you will move forward no matter what your circumstances look like~ Look at your life in four quarters like in football and then learn to love the quarter you are in~ There are erasers on pencils so you don't have to just live with mistakes~ There is no such thing as failure...it's all education ~ Ask yourself what got you to where you are~ If you did it once you can make it happen again ~ Pay close attention to the habits you need to break and the new habits that you need to create~ It's important to invest in yourself with things like meditation, reading, and journalingFrom working with a WWE Wrestler to becoming a taxi driver, Steve shared what to look for when you are tallying up the results. The things that were once so valuable and important tend to lose their luster when we look at the bigger picture. One valuable gem is that your current circumstances can help you to create new habits and get a clearer understanding of your story. In the midst of the situation, there is the temptation to quit and halt your movement forward. Assess your situation and get someone to help you determine how you can move to the next page of your story. Meet Steve: After a 3-year Army stint, Steve McChesney attended Sherwood Oaks Experimental College, a Hollywood CA private film school. He went on to stunt school, studying under Kim Kahana, and has appeared as a stuntman, actor, or background in 350+ movies and television shows. Steve is a member of the Directors Guild of America, with producer credits including the feature film Michael Winslow Live, Up Late with Murray Langston (The Unknown Comic), which he directed, and Associate Producer on Michael Winslow’s Comedy Cruise. He directed The Home-Based Business Shows and Success Stories, and Ron Siggi's Rock and Roll Legends featuring Ed McMahon. Steve recently co-produced and directed WCW/WWE Wrestling Superstar: The Bill DeMott Experience. His earlier jobs – restaurant owner, talent manager, roadie, martial arts instructor, taxi driver, cooking show host, salesman, magician, stage hypnotist, and father – all prepared him for his career now as a results coach in business, sales, and marketing.Social Media Handles (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)https://www.facebook.com/imagimarketing/https://www.linkedin.com/in/smcchesney/https://twitter.com/imagimarketinghttps://www.instagram.com/imagimarketing/

Networking, the Netflix of Entrepreneurship with Ginny Robertson | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1005

Networking can happen at Walmart or at the local Chamber of Commerce but you have to know how to use it best. ~ Altovise For many, networking has taken on a much bigger role in building their business after learning what works best for them. Similar to Netflix, it can either drain your time or benefit you with wisdom and some great relationships. We are a long way away from just handing out business cards at a local event. Now, we find ourselves using virtual options to build connections and gain visibility for a business. In this episode, Ginny, who knows all too well how to build a networking community, joined me to talk about the things she has been able to do for women in business. It started as a local meetup for women in the DMV area but has quickly expanded to a global community of women coming together to learn and grow. Even throughout the pandemic, they took the in-person meetups to a virtual platform without missing a beat. Being able to make the shift in the middle of a pandemic created momentum for the women as they were managing a new normal in business. Ginny's nuggets:~ Creating conversations and creating community are both important ~ Having support is valuable when situations happen that are outside of your control ~ It is the things that you learn today that have the potential to benefit you later~ Work in your strengths and you will see success ~ Connections happen through conversations ~ Don't wait until you need something in order to figure things out ~ Let people know that they matter The On Purpose Woman Global Community brings together women for the opportunity to network and learn virtually. 21 years of networking has given Ginny a vast experience with empowering women. It also led to her creating the On Purpose Woman Magazine where she creates a platform to feature women in business. When you create communities, you also create a driving force for change. Through networking, Ginny has been able to help Light of Truths Ministries for almost two decades. Doing things like clothing drives and music concerts that benefit the organization shows how networking builds those within the community and those outside the community. Is there a way that your networking community can serve another community? Come join the conversation: bit.ly/worldvoicecommunityMeet Ginny: Ginny Robertson supports women, wherever they are in life, with opportunities for deep connection, more visibility and to become more comfortable with playing a bigger role on the planet.
