The pandemic shined a bright light on what it feels like to not have someone that is speaking up for you. There have been many who had to endure hospital visits away from loved ones as they battled anything from symptoms of covid to common cold symptoms. In this episode he shared what it looked like for him and how the steps he took can mirror the steps necessary for success by anyone. Even though he has been able to achieve success in certain areas, the pandemic shifted things for him and his band. One thing that stood out the most was that his desire to put out music was because he felt that music could be his way of helping others through the pandemic. He was leading with service through song. Meet Robert: Robert Miller is the creative force behind Project Grand Slam, as the leader, bassist, and composer for the band.Says Robert: “In 2015 I completely reorganized the band and our music. Since then it’s been a whirlwind.” PGS plays a unique fusion of Rock and Jazz with a twist of Latin. Plus Robert’s reimagining of iconic ‘60s hits. In just the past 5 years PGS has released 10 highly acclaimed albums including a Billboard #1, had over 4 million video views, a million Spotify streams, over 50,000 Facebook fans, played festivals and concerts in the U.S. and abroad, and opened for such artists as Edgar Winter, Blues Traveler, Boney James, Mindi Abair, and Scott Weiland, as well as an after-show for YES. Plus PGS has had tens of thousands of Likes, Shares, and Comments on social media. Many of you have fallen into a flow of Netflix and chill or Disney childhood throwback shows throughout the pandemic. Don't fret...this is a nonjudgement zone. Then, once you value your story, you need a strategy to not only own that story but to share it. The things that were once so valuable and important tend to lose their luster when we look at the bigger picture. One valuable gem is that your current circumstances can help you to create new habits and get a clearer understanding of your story. In the midst of the situation, there is the temptation to quit and halt your movement forward. Assess your situation and get someone to help you determine how you can move to the next page of your story. Networking can happen at Walmart or at the local Chamber of Commerce but you have to know how to use it best. ~ Altovise For many, networking has taken on a much bigger role in building their business after learning what works best for them. Similar to Netflix, it can either drain your time or benefit you with wisdom and some great relationships. We are a long way away from just handing out business cards at a local event. Now, we find ourselves using virtual options to build connections and gain visibility for a business. In this episode, Ginny, who knows all too well how to build a networking community, joined me to talk about the things she has been able to do for women in business. It started as a local meetup for women in the DMV area but has quickly expanded to a global community of women coming together to learn and grow. Even throughout the pandemic, they took the in-person meetups to a virtual platform without missing a beat. Being able to make the shift in the middle of a pandemic created momentum for the women as they were managing a new normal in business.
