This week, singer/songwriter PLEXXAGLASS aka Alexxa Joan Rae - stops by to talk about their recent singles, upcoming album and what it was like to collaborate with producer Kevin Billingslea.

Sarah Phung of FRAMES joined me this week to discuss their upcoming album ‘Every Room’ out September 24th and shared some insights about self-love, how to deal with conflict, and nostalgia. Happy PRIDE Month! ASW is a Queer artist celebrating PRIDE by using his music to fundraise and advocate for important causes. Alex was kind enough to share his own experience with mental health and the global not-for-profit organization Crisis Text Line. How the organization was a tremendous support to him and how he eventually became a volunteer. We also discuss his new music; his upcoming Dahlia EP will drop via Popgang Records in August, and his latest single, “Roots” is streaming now! 

Marlo The Barbarian almost gave up. The singer/songwriter struggled for years to find the right people who believed in her and her vision. But now, with several EPs under her belt, Marlo The Barbarian has arrived. Her candid and infectious songs have reached fans all over the internet. The single “Real Friends, Fake Friends’ struck a chord with anyone who struggled at home during the pandemic and had to re-examine where they spend their energy. Avery Mandeville, aka Little Hag, has a lot to say! This badass feminist uses her powerful songwriting to share her story while - giving others the outlet to release their own experience via her music. Avery and I caught up to talk about some of the tracks she has released so far, a Little Hag, and what’s coming soon. Avery was a breath of fresh air, and I hope you enjoy our conversation. Megan Joy is one of the co-creators behind the original musical/video project, Bloody Cabaret. The work is mesmerizing, especially Megan’s enchanting voice, and the story explores love, pain, loss, and everything in between. The self-funded project is available to stream wherever you get music.

Singer/songwriter Ashley Jordan joins the show this week to discuss her recent singles, how she takes care of her mental health and what to expect from her upcoming fifth studio album! Ashley was generous enough to share her insights on being vulnerable as a songwriting and what she hopes her music can be for her fans. Hannah Wingler has been working in the live music industry for years, and with the curveball of 2020, she not only learned to adapt, but she confounded an incredible new resource. Along with peers in her community, Hannah co-founded the weekly newsletter 'Back of House' to help keep the live music industry connected and inspired. This week Hannah filled me in on what it's like to work in behind the scenes in live events, different areas to expertise to consider, and how she has grown from the challenges of 2020.
