Season 2 Trailer: A New Season, A New Format and More Pop Culture | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 11:03

Qasim and Salaam are back for Season 2 of Re-Sight Islam!  Season 1 was an unqualified success thanks to you, our listeners, and all of the great support and feedback you sent our way.  Season 2 will continue with the "Jihad of the Pod" incorporating all of the things you love - the witty banter, the pop-culture references and the compelling story narratives.  We will also be changing up the format just a bit - RSI will be released twice weekly with shorter episodes of 25-30 minutes.  We received a ton of feedback from students, teachers and commuters that the shorter format would fit their goals and schedules - and we couldn't agree more! Season 2 kicks off with Episode 1 hitting the air on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 - just in time for your Thanksgiving travels! Have a listen, and let's break bread together!   Please remember to subscribe, share and comment.  If you have any questions for Qasim or have suggestions for topics, you can always Tweet them to  @MuslimIQ  or send an email to ReSightIslam@religion.news.  Jurist, Scholar, Wife and Warrior - Hazrat Ayesha and her Influence on Islam | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:09:26

In this episode of Re-Sight Islam, the final episode of Season1, Qasim and Salaam examine the life and the influence of the Prophet Mohammed's beloved wife, Ayesha.  Respected by the Prophet for her intelleigence, judgement and understanding of His teachings, she stands as a model of piety, truthfulness and strength for modern women throughout the world.  In telling her story, Qasim and Salaam are joined by Qasim's wife, Ayesha, to lend some authenticity that Salaam's falsetto could never accomplish!   Parental Advisory:  This episode deals with sensitive issues that may necessitate parental discretion and further discussion as we address topics of child marriage, adultery, rape and sexual abuse   This episode looks at why Islam requires PROOF and corroboration by truthful witnesses to accuse someone (man or woman) of unchaste behavior.  Qasim and Salaam take a deep dive into the relevance of Ayesha's life in an era of #metoo, victim shaming and false allegations of wrong doing.  Additionally, they take some time to set the record straight on the actual age of Ayesha when she was wed. Qasim and Salaam address the importance of a well planned bathroom break on long trips, coffee's true origin and how Hajib was first meant to be embraced by men. They will help you see that there is no double standard when it comes to modesty and chastity, why there needs to be a face palm emoji in podcasts and explain why women always maintain bodily autonomy. The team closes out this first successful season with a peek at what is planned for Season 2 (which should be launching in the next few weeks)!
