Jawn Appetit
Summary: Located at the intersection of Philadelphia and food, the Jawn Appetit podcast is a fun, informative - and sometimes, irreverent - look at the local restaurant scene without the pretentiousness that you might find elsewhere. Each week, we'll give you our takes on the hottest establishments in Philly and tell you where you can find the best eats in (and around) the City of Brotherly Love.

It's time for our 3rd Annual Golden Jawn Awards! The Jawn Appetit crew looks back at the past 12 months and hands out accolades for the best bites they had in (and around) the City of Philadelphia! Later in the show, Roy and Chanell round up some of the best Valentine's Day meal deals, and explain why you should never leave your baby unattended on a train.
There's a ton of new restaurants that opened in Philly this past week, and the Jawn Appetit crew had a chance to check out one of them (Cry Baby Pasta), and has the inside scoop on their amazing pasta and bruschetta. And later in the show, we explain why South Philly Smokhaus has the resume to be considered one of the city's BBQ heavyweights.
We had a chance to visit Vernick Food and Drink a few weeks back, and we'll tell you if it should still be considered one of the best restaurants in Philly. On this edition of Jawn Appetit, we also show some love to Reading Terminal Market, and explain why you should never eat food that fell onto an interstate highway.
More than 100 restaurants are participating in Center City Restaurant Week this month, and we sort through all of their menus to tell you the best of the best. We also take a look and food trends for 2019, and show love to Philadelphia Eagles' sleeper cell agent Cody Parkey.
The crew takes a trip down to Washington D.C. and comes home with a bunch of foodie gifts courtesy of the amazing vendors at the MetroCooking 2018 festival. Later in the show, Roy and Chanell highlight their New Year's Eve restaurant picks and marvel at how #FloridaMan consistently finds himself in the news.
Plenty of area restaurants are doing their own take on the Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner, and we highlight some of the best-looking menus on this edition of the podcast. We also make a case for the bacon vending machine, and explain why limiting people to only six french fries is foolish.
On a special "Travel Jawn" edition of Jawn Appetit, the crew takes you on a tour of the beautiful state of Hawaii. We tell you where you can find the best eats in Honolulu (be sure to try the loco moco!) and explain how some of the best food in Hawaii can be found in the supermarket! And, with the holiday season fast approaching, we debate the merits of sausage-scented wrapping paper...
Not in the mood to cook this Thanksgiving? The Jawn Appetit crew gives you their picks on the best area restaurants that will take care of the Turkey Day cooking for you. Chanell and Roy also shout out the newest dining guide from Philadelphia Inquirer restaurant critic Craig LaBan, and spend far too much time talking about the Wu-Tang Clan.
The Jawn Appetit crew checks out Liberty Bell Gastropub to see what the dining situation is like up at Parx Casino. They also give you the inside scoop on which Philly restaurants are offering free food for voting in the midterm elections, and tell you how you've been eating hamburgers the wrong way your entire life.
On this edition of Jawn Appetit, we chat with Irene Levy Baker, author of "Unique Eats and Eateries of Philadelphia." Irene tells us a couple of the origin stories behind some of the city's most infamous restaurants, and gives us a few tips on how to score reservations at hard-to-book places like Zahav and Vernick.
On this edition of Jawn Appetit, we check out a great Italian restaurant in South Jersey, celebrate the arrival of the latest Shake Shack in Philadelphia, and debate which burger chains are healthier than others. We (one of us, at least) also throw our support behind a certain canceled Netflix series.
EEEEEATSCON made its way to New York City last weekend, and on this edition of Jawn Appetit, we tell you how the crew from The Infatuation put together one of the best food festivals we've ever seen. We also debate Philadelphia's ranking in terms of the country's best food cities, and marvel at the excitement surrounding the first-ever Krispy Kreme store in Ireland.
The Jawn Appetit crew loves Central Texas so much that they took another trip to Austin to check out the food scene. And in between bites of BBQ and tacos, they took a brief detour to San Antonio to seek out some of the best bites found in Alamo City.
On the latest edition of the Jawn Appetit podcast, the crew gives you their picks for the fall edition of Center City District Restaurant Week. Roy and Chanell also discuss the new food vendors coming to the Bourse Marketplace, and explain why all-you-can-eat isn't always what it seems.
Philly gets a new grocery store and a new outpost of Iron Hill Brewery... but there are also some changes coming down the pike for chain restaurants that do business in the city. Later in the show, we take a trip to Hearthside in Collingswood and explain how it's right up there with some of the best BYOBs in the area.
