Now available to stream On Demand, The Outside Story is a new indie comedy written and directed by Casimir Nozkowski. It stars Brian Tyree Henry as a heartbroken introvert who gets locked out of his Brooklyn apartment. The film also stars Sunita Mani, Sonequa Martin-Green, Olivia Edward, Asia Kate Dillon, Maria Dizzia, and Rebecca Naomi Jones.

Now in limited release from Focus Features, Limbo is a new dramedy from director Ben Sharrock. It's about a group of refugees who have to take cultural awareness classes on a remote island in Scotland while waiting to find out if their asylum will be approved. The film stars Amir El-Masry, Vikash Bhai, Kais Nashef, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Ola Orebiyi, Kwabena Ansah, and Kenneth Collard.

Now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, Without Remorse is a new action thriller based on the 1993 novel by Tom Clancy. It stars Michael B. Jordan as John Kelly, a U.S. Navy Seal who goes rogue after a fateful mission gets personal. The cast also includes Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Guy Pearce.

It’s Negroni vs. Ashton on this week’s episode of Cinemaholics. That’s right, we’re reviewing The Mitchells vs. the Machines, the latest Sony Animation movie, now being released on Netflix. Most critics are loving this animated sci-fi family film, but the real fur is about to fly over the podcast airwaves. Also on the show, we’re covering Without Remorse, the latest Tom Clancy adaption, this time starring Michael B. Jordan and coming straight to Amazon Prime Video. There’s also Limbo from director Ben Sharrock, The Outside Story starring Brian Tyree Henry, and finally The Disciple, an Indian festival darling that just dropped on Netflix.

Our film anniversary this month belongs to the romantic drama Charlie Chaplin once called “the greatest movie ever made about America.” That’s right, we’re diving into A Place in the Sun, starring Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelley Winters, with supporting turns from Anne Revere and Raymond Burr. Directed by George Stevens and written by Harry Brown and Michael Wilson, this awards-heavy favorite among classic film lovers celebrates 70 years since premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in 1951, and it was the second film adaptation of the 1925 novel An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser, which was also a place of the same name.

Now available in select theaters, Together Together is a new Sundance comedy from writer/director Nikole Beckwith. It stars Ed Helms and Patti Harrison, who become unlikely friends after he hires her for a surrogate pregnancy. The film also stars Tig Notaro, Anna Konkle, and Julio Torres.

Now available to stream on Netflix in the U.S. and Prime Video in Canada, Stowaway is a new sci-fi thriller directed by Joe Penna, who co-wrote the film with Ryan Morrison. It stars Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, and Toni Collette as a trio of Mars-bound astronauts who discover a surprise addition to their small, compressed spacecraft.

Get over here? More like get over it! Anyway, this week on the show we talk about Mortal Kombat, a reboot of the film franchise based on the series of video games that just hit HBO Max and is now playing in theaters. We also review Stowaway, a new sci-fi thriller on Netflix. And we finish the show with a review of Together Together, a quirky Sundance comedy that is now in limited release. And if you’re curious what we thought of the Oscars 2021 ceremony, we open the show with some of our brief thoughts.

It stars legendary scream queen Barbara Crampton and the prolific Larry Fessenden as a married couple grappling with an infestation of supernatural horrors creeping into the rut of their relationship.

Come fly to Greece with us for a weekend of reviews we’ll never forget. This week our main review is the new romance dramedy Monday, which stars Sebastian Stan and Denise Gough as two self-destructive lovers. We also have some brief Oscars talk and quickly review Ben Wheatley’s new sci-fi indie, In the Earth. Last, we finish the show with reviews for the new vampire horror Jakob’s Wife and the animated Netflix musical Arlo the Alligator Boy.

It follows the harrowing story of a teenage ski prodigy who falls under the predatory influence of her exploitative coach. The film stars Noée Abita, Jérémie Renier, Marie Denarnaud, and Muriel Combeau.

Now streaming on Netflix, Thunder Force is a new superhero comedy starring Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as two estranged friends who develop incredible powers in a world where the criminals already have special abilities. The cast also includes Bobby Cannavale, Jason Batemen, Pom Klementieff, and Melissa Leo.
