Guitar Lesson 13a: More rhythmic songwriting ideas, chord melodies and alternate tunings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:23:16

Our related post on the Blogging Musician's site: http://adamharkus.com/unlocking-fretboard-understanding-key-signatures-guitar/ Our website: https://tunein-toneup.com/ Our dedicated post for lesson 13: https://tunein-toneup.com/2017/05/05/guitar-lesson-13-how-to-practice-without-a-guitar-and-further-rhythm-ideas-and-alternate-tuning/ Guitar Lesson 13a: This lesson is mainly as a result of some of the feedback which we have had from listeners, namely that they found lesson 5 on rhythm playing really useful and wanted more of this. As a result I showed up to Dan with the two questions: PART 1 - This was to revisit chord melodies and song writing ideas. What we covered in this section of the lesson organically grew and we added in some ideas about alternate tunings, including DADGAD. PART 2 (12.5.17)- Here, Dan really helped me out by giving me some superb ideas for what to do while unable to practise and how to develop my musical understanding of keys and the fretboard without needing to use the guitar. Very helpful as I currently have some tendonitis making it difficult to play :(

Finally, we have a go at improvising over some backing tracks. Including some guitar swapping and totally shredtastic - when Dan's up anyway :)

Guitar Lesson 12a - How to sound like Jimi Hendrix by mixing rhythm and lead fills | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:39:07

Our website - https://tunein-toneup.com Dedicated post: PART 1: 1. First, we discuss the time in which Jimi Hendrix was playing and what was in his situation which pushed him towards playing rhythm and lead together. 2. Now Dan shows me some fills of a Bm barre chord. 3. Next we look at a progression Bm, A, G, D 4. Then Dan looks at Jimi's popular chord grip, using an F shape chord moved up the neck with the bass note played with the thumb. 5. Finally we finish with discussion about different approaches you can take to your guitar learning and how what we have done fits into this as something accessible for most types of player. Lastly, some discussion about our podcast.

Guitar Lesson 11: How To Get The Most Out Of Your Delay Pedal | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:07:33

Our website - https://tunein-toneup.com Dedicated post: https://tunein-toneup.com/2017/04/07/guitar-lesson-11-what-is-delay-and-how-do-you-use-it-effectively/ Guitar lesson 11 is a follow-on from last week when you consider the use of delay pedals is important for the style of David Gilmour amongst other players. Insofar as delay pedals go I am a beginner and learnt so much from Dan’s generous time. We look at violining, Purple Rain, metal tones, Sweet Disposition and much much more. We had discussed this before the lesson and so I took along my PodXT Line6 multi-effects pedal for us to gain some delay sounds.
