Book Vs Movie Podcast
Summary: Book Vs. Movie is the podcast that ponders the question: "Which was better...the book or the movie?" We spoil away the details, uncover the plot points, discuss casting choices and shower with praise (or pummel with snark) as we see fit. Hosts are Margo P. (She's Nacho Mama's Blog) and Margo D. (Creator of Brooklyn Fit Chick.com) and we are not afraid to tell it like it is!

Podcasts:
Margo D. and Deana of the Twisted Philly podcast meet again to talk about Stephen King adaptations with this episode focused on the 1979 book/ 1983 movie 'The Dead Zone.'
The Book Vs. Movie podcast takes a different turn today with our first review--the HBO documentary Spielberg. After covering two episodes featuring Steven Spielberg as director (Jaws and Jurassic Park) and with many more surely to come we felt it was the perfect time to look at his full body of work.
The Margos get very gothic and silly sometimes trying to wrap their heads around Mary Shelley’s venerated classic novel with Henry V director Kenneth Branagh’s wildly acted and directed film. How crazy is this adaptation? How about a dance sequence between a zombie Helena Bonham Carter and Robert De Niro as “the monster?”
Margo D. (co-host of Book Vs. Movie) and Juliette Miranda of the Unwritable Rant podcast turn up the spookiness in this episode talking about the classic Ira Levin novel and the venerated film directed by Roman Polanski. It took a year to make this show happen but it’s now ready, enjoy!
Book Vs. Movie finally takes on the Suzanne Collins’ classic 2008 novel The Hunger Games and compare it to the 2012 movie--both smash hits. We were a little scared to take this on as the trilogy as it has some very fervent fans. But the Margos are as fearless as a tribute from District 12 so we grab our bow & arrow and take aim at each work of art.
Stephen King’s It is the focus of this special bonus ep of the Book Vs. Movie podcast! Margo D. and Deana Marie of the Twisted Philly podcast give their thoughts on the film and talk about the differences between the 1986 book, the 1990 TV movie and the 2017 film. Then Margo & Deana give their picks for who should be in the adult cast set to film next year.
The Book Vs. Movie podcast goes straight to the 60s (but man, it really feels like the 50s sometimes, no?) Turns out the 1967 classic film starring Dustin Hoffman and directed by Mike Nichols was adapted by an obscure novel by a very peculiar man, Charles Webb. What are the differences between the two? Which did the Margos like better? Click the link below to find out.
The Margos have no fear of getting whacked after this episode as we are huge fans of both the Nicholas Pileggi 1986 nonfiction book and the classic 1990 film directed by Martin Scorsese. Here we compare and contrast between book versus movie and have some big opinions about them.
Book Vs Movie REPLAY: "Hook" Vs. "Peter Pan"
The Book Vs. Movie podcast takes on (again!) the 1975 classic movie Jaws as well as the truly not-so-great 1974 novel from the otherwise very thoughtful author (and shark supporter) Peter Benchley. We covered this topic two years ago but our old ways of recording thing leaves quite a bit to be desired so we decided to take it on again. (Besides, who doesn’t love watching Jaws for the hundredth time?)
We have FINALLY arrived to the season finale of Stephen King’s The Mist TV series and in this special bonus ep of the Book Vs. Movie podcast Margo D. and Deana of the Twisted Philly podcast give their final thoughts on the TV production plus, they choose their own “Top 5 Favorite Casts of a Stephen King Movie”
It’s time to recap episode 9 of Stephen King’s The Mist TV series and in this special bonus ep of the Book Vs. Movie podcast Margo D. and Deana of the Twisted Philly podcast offer their weekly recap of the Spike TV production plus, they choose their own “Top 5 Most Wanted Stephen King Reboots.”
For this episode of the Book Vs. Movie podcast the Margos go back to the world of science fiction with this ep talking about the extraordinary life of Isaac Asimov and his most famous work (out of hundreds of books, essays, letters, etc.) I Robot. Specifically we compare the introduction of the book and the short story Little Lost Robot with the Will Smith 2004 film.
We are finally seeing the end of Stephen King’s The Mist TV series and in this special bonus ep of the Book Vs. Movie podcast Margo D. and Deana of the Twisted Philly podcast offer their weekly recap of the Spike TV production plus, they choose their own “Top 5 Stephen King Casting Choices.”
In this episode of "Book Vs. Movie" the Margos take on the 1960s classic novel and film "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane." SO much juicy tidbits, gossip and trivia
