The angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she was going to give birth to the savior of the world. God asked an incredible thing of this Jewish teenage girl. She may have responded, "You want me to do what?" but Gabriel told her "Do not be afraid." Today, we learn that sometimes God asks us to do some things that seem way bigger than what we can handle alone.
The apostle Paul suffered a hardship that never seemed to go away, but his words can encourage you as you face a seemingly endless problem. In this final sermon of the series, we learn how to trust God through our trials.
Do you feel like you are waiting and waiting on God, but He isn't doing anything? Maybe you are hoping to grow your family but the pregnancy test is always negative. Or things didn't work out with that person you thought you'd marry. That promotion just hasn't come through like you wanted. Please understand that this season of waiting is not going to be wasted and that God has not forgotten you.
Sometimes life throws us a curve ball. Everything is going well and then WHAM - something terrible happens. We ask, "Where was God in this?" "How could he let this happen?" "God, can't you hear me??" Just because God is silent doesn't mean that He is absent in your circumstances. God has not forgotten you. He loves you. He wants to hold you through the pain.
Fir Road joined with thousands of believers around the world as we observed the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.
What legacy are you leaving behind? It is a question worth asking. To leave a legacy of love is a worthwhile goal.
Giving to God financially through the church should be seen as a wonderful blessing and honor. We will take a look at what it means to be "hilarious" givers.
Giving to the world is much more than just a "feel good" thing; it is commanded in scripture. This Sunday, we'll take a look at some specifics of what the Bible says about giving to the world around us.
God is the ultimate giver. Since we are made in His image, we are created to be givers, too. This three-week series considers what it could look like for us to give like God does - generously and without hesitation. The inspiration for the series comes from the book "I Like Giving" by Brad Formsma.
Judging one another is one of Satan's primary weapons to divide Christians. We will examine what Paul said to the Romans about this issue.
As we strive to keep from judging others we need to find a proper balance between grace and truth.
Jesus was clear in His teachings: It is not our job to judge others; our job is to love them. If that is true, then why do we try to condemn people when we are just as sinful as they are?
