The Vixen Hour

Co-hosted by the lovely Aeryn Walker, this Vixen Hour is all about coming out as a sex worker or making the choice not to.  We will here from three sex workers- one that has chosen to keep her job a secret, one that is waiting for the right time to do so and one who has taken the plunge and come out to her parents.  The show did have a bit of a surprise but heart-warming ending.

We speak to the fascinating Lady Ambrosia Noir about how diverse sex work can be as well as sex workers turning around the question, "So what's the weirdest thing you've ever done?"  

The Vixen Hour will have a special program tonight in the lead up to International Women's Day by focussing on the issue of sex work and motherhood. As well as featuring co-hosts who are both sex workers and mothers, the program will also ask, "What's it like to grow up with a mum who's a sex worker?"  

MARCH 3RD- INTERNATIONAL SEX WORKER RIGHTS DAY! It's a day to remember to the human rights of Sex Workers and the importance of connecting as a community. We are going to cover two stories: the fabulous Tabitha will talk about founding a peer-based sex worker organisation in Victoria and Rahni Belle comes back to share her long experience of fighting the isolation created by stigma.

Christian speaks to Fiona about travelling around Australia to do sex work, exploring the diversity that can come from working in a range of states across Australia.  

Christian & Gala Talk the complex and colourful relationship between sex work and art- the portrayals of sex workers by some classic masters as well as discussing some fabulous sex worker artists.

The Laws of Sex Work. What do you know about current sex work laws? If you could make a law about sex work what would it be and why? Estelle & Christian open up a conversation with the community about current sex work policy and the direction to where sex workers would like to see legislation move. Compelling listening

Riley joins Christian to compare the changing (or not) attitudes towards sex work and health, talking about how sex workers maintain good sexual health and what makes a good doctor for sex workers.

Joining Christian in the studio is the fabulous Jane Green.  We'll be talking about the impact mainstream media reporting has on sex workers, an analysis of the media in 2012 and the ways sex workers can work towards getting better representation in the press. It's going to be super interesting and a bit surprising.

Christian will be joined by blogger extroadinaire Eva Sless to talk about words, meanings and the langauge of sex work. We'll also be speaking to Australian best selling author, Kate Holden. It's going to be an awesome show
