Too often we think of God as an angry principal inviting us into his office for swats. Psalm 25:14 describes God as a tutoring teacher inviting us to sit down for a talk about what’s really going on in us.
Our lives take shape through the various, small decisions we make every day. There is one “little†decision, however, that influences, and is affected by, all the other decisions we make - how we respond to God's Word.
It seems that God rarely plops down the finished, fully-developed product. Rather, He develops it in stages, and uses people to do it. So the Church slowly developed. In this text we see the beginnings of its leadership and structure.

Sometimes our personal vantage point prevents us from seeing our own spots. Jesus sees them and wants to chat with us about them.
Our hearts hatch evil within us that leads to evil deeds. That’s why God is more concerned with our hearts than with our actions. The Sabbath brought this out.
Form matters—but as a means not an end. Embrace forms and thought patterns that enhance your movement in the Spirit.
Transformation takes place in your life through discipleship with Jesus where he deals with your sin through his mercy.
We can miss out on the freedom Christ brings unless we remember...
