It begins with the first verse of Deut. 11: 26 which should be examined as it sets the tone to introduce the mountains of blessing and curses, choosing the place for YHVH’s dwelling, false prophets, idol worship, clean eating, tithing, the Shmittah or Sabbatical year, and concludes with the 3 Pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot, thereby, linking these items with those blesses and or curses. US Secretary of State John Kerry has been successful in getting Israel and the Palestinians to restart direct peace talks with a goal of a final peace agreement to be completed within 9 months. The EU issued a directive last week that does not recognize the West Bank and East Jerusalem as belonging to Israel. The UN General Assembly voted last November to recognize a PLO state based upon 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. How are these events related? Are we witnessing the prophecy that the nations will divide the land of Israel (Joel 3:2) and the city of Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:2) ???

With co-hosts Teresa Casalino and Susan Hooge For this show we continued our series with Lee Miller regarding women in the assembly then and now, by looking into the words “Prophesy, Prophecy and Prophet” due to the conversation from last week’s show.  Like Hebrew, the Greek language also assigns gender to its vocabulary making some words masculine, female or neutral.  We found that some words are masculine but do not always apply to men only such as the word brethren, which although masculine refers to men and women.  And the opposite is also true such as in the case of the “Holy Spirit” and “Love”  which is feminine and does not apply as just an attribute of or given to women. So then what is a ‘prophet’?  It is an authorized spokesperson, one speaking on behalf YHVH.  So what is the definition of ‘to prophecy’?  It means to challenge to repentance and to build up the community.  And Who chooses who receives the gift of prophesy? “1Co 12:28  For God has set in his church, first apostles; after them, prophets; then teachers, then performers of miracles, then those who have the gift of healing, helpers, leaders, and speakers in diverse languages.” According to Rav Shaul it is YHVH Elohim who makes that call.  “1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but there is only one Spirit.”  It gives us something to ponder when we ask, who are we to say who can or cannot speak when the gift comes from above to that servant. Amongst the VERY MANY scriptures provided by Lee, he also suggested the book “Women in Travail and Transition”. Our second guest was Zachary Bauer of New2torah.com.  Zachary spoke to us about some simple steps and tips we can use to prepare for a sudden move should the situation call for it.  With the weather the way it been, or if a fire, quake or terrorist threat is imminent, how much more better off would we be if we had a ‘bug out’ back ready and prepared by the door.  Zachary suggested starting out with a bag packed for 72 hours.  We also discussed the right backpack for your body type.  Women’s backpacks are constructed differently from men’s, and it makes difference during those long hikes! Maria continues to discuss the “dichotomy” of two extreme views held by many in the Hebraic Root’s Community regarding the sacred name of our Creator. There is the camp of people who say that “it’s not that important” how we pronounce the name of our Creator, and Maria explains why that ideology goes against Towrah. But there is another camp of people who would say “you cannot be saved until you pronounce the name correctly” and Maria also debunks that idea as well using patterns seen throughout scripture. What is a dichotomy? A dichotomy is two seemingly opposing views that are both true. Maria illustrates an example of this using two seemingly opposing theological views: “Calivinism versus Arminianism” or “predestination versus freewill.” Maria also cites some historical evidence about how our Messiah’s name was deliberately changed to “Hesus Krishna” by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the 3rd Century as an amalgam of the names of two pagan deities.
