Why Email Marketing Is The Single Most Effective Strategy For Your Business – Interview With Jack Born | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 42:42

In this 4th episode of The Digital Age podcast I talk with Jack Born about Email marketing. This is an incredibly valuable episode because of all online marketing strategies, email marketing is the single most effective strategy that you can employ for your business.       Subscribe To The Podcast On iTunes By Clicking Here Email Marketing Interview With Jack Born Highlights I wanted the next podcast episode to be about email marketing, because if offline businesses with real, physical goods and services were going to only do one form of online marketing, then this would be it. So I wanted to get on The Digital Age a person who is well qualified to talk about this topic. Jack Born is has built and operates an email marketing tool that is used by advanced email marketers, but what I really like about Jacks approach is that he can distill down a potentially complicated topic into an easy-to-understand concept. Here are some highlights of what was discussed: Learn why email marketing is your best online marketing tool - It is all based around building a relationship, developing trust, earning authority and doing it over a period of time Discover exactly what it is about email marketing that makes it so effective for your business - Learn about what being personal means for you and your customers relationship, and why it is important to deliver your marketing message in an environment that is free of distractions Learn the best techniques to get a prospective customers email address Learn what a lead magnet is and why getting this right can make big differences to the results you get Discover how to qualify a potential customer, because you only want to be able to email people who could actually become one of your customers and who will buy from you - Learn that it is as much about disqualification as it is about qualification See how you can create an email marketing system that only requires you to invest time and effort up front, but once you have it set up, then it can operate on autopilot and be working for you 24 hours in the day We touch on how you can test and measure different parts of your email, including the subject line, the content and even the time of day that you send the email - differences in email open rates can be dramatic We discuss the differences between an html template email with fancy graphics versus a simple plain text email, what the differences are and when to use each type Learn about who some of the best email service providers are who can give you the tools to begin to implement these email marketing strategies   Some Email Service Providers: Aweber - (which both myself and Jack use, and of which Jack has built his autoresponder software upon to take Aweber to the next level) Getresponse Mailchimp Constant Contact Crucial Links Jack Born's AWProTools Software that will help you tag your Aweber emails to be able to further segment your email database Follow Jack Born on Twitter | Follow @jackborn // Follow Billy Elusiv on Twitter | Follow @billyelusiv Tweet About This Episode | Tweet //   Mentions: Perry Marshall who Jack Born does online marketing consulting for   Subscribe To The Podcast On iTunes By Clicking Here   If you have any questions for Jack Born or myself regarding what has been talked about in this episode, ask your question in the comments section below, or via twitter @billyelusiv and use the hashtag #digitalagepodcast

03 The Best Mobile Strategies For Businesses With Boyd Wason | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:55

Welcome to The Digital Age Podcast #3 where I talk to mobile marketing and strategy expert Boyd Wason. In this interview we talk about the best mobile marketing strategy to focus on, and how to keep up with consumer behaviour with mobile devices.       Subscribe To The Podcast On iTunes By Clicking Here   Regarding not having a mobile optimized website..."You're giving them a door to the toilet" - Mobile Expert Boyd Wason [Tweet this Quote!]   Mobile Strategies  With Boyd Wason Highlights Consumers have adopted mobile behaviour, businesses are struggling to keep up 60% of smartphone use occurs inside the home - wifi enabled 80% of smartphone searches are spontaneous the consumer lives in the moment. If they decide they want to find something or get an answer to a question, they reach for the device that is closest to them at the time, whether it is a tablet, laptop, smartphone or desktop when consumers use their mobile device to interact with businesses on a website, they are in a different state of mind. They are wanting specific information such as where a premises is, what the contact number is, what the opening hours are, or to know the core product offerings. They are not so much in the research and evaluation stage so are less likely to consume case studies, testimonials and other detailed content you need to understand your customer better, live in the customers' shoes before you do anything, sometimes that sounds easy to do, however it is often neglected. your website is a revenue generating engine, a working asset. It is not an operational cost, so you should budget accordingly. In less than 5 years, Near Field Communication (NFC) will be prevalent, it will be inside paper and product packaging. Soon you will be able to scan your egg carton in the supermarket, and it will show you the farm and the chicken that laid your eggs.   The biggest bang that you will get for your buck in Boyds' view is to have a mobile responsive website.   Crucial Links Boyd Wasons' digital agency | Boyd Wasons' mobile campaigns agency | Boyd Wasons' Mobile Application 'PLUK' Boyd Wason on Twitter | @ConversationGuy  Tweet #digitalagepodcast // Mentions: The advert on TV where the All Blacks teach a kid 'the secret' to kicking... www.powerade.co.nz      Subscribe To The Podcast On iTunes By Clicking Here   If you have any questions for Boyd Wason or myself regarding what has been talked about in this episode, ask your question in the comments section below, or via twitter @billyelusiv and use the hashtag #digitalagepodcast

Vikram Kumar CEO Of Mega On How To Apply Internet Thinking To Your Business | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:26

In this episode, Vikram Kumar (who is the CEO of Mega the cloud storage company, the fastest growing startup in history) tells us how Mega is going and how they are planning to redefine the internet! Listen to the interview to learn how Mega plans to achieve this. Mr. Kumar talks about how Mega wants to redefine the internet, which is a major statement! Also learn what features Mega users can expect to see in the coming months. Subscribe To The Podcast On iTunes By Clicking Here   Here are some highlights of the interview: Mega now has over 3 million users in 3 months of operating! Mega is soon to be releasing features that are on a par with Dropbox (who Mega sees as the current industry standard)   How To Apply Internet Thinking To Your Business Vikram also gives some valuable insight and suggestions as to how business owners and business leaders can apply internet thinking to gain a competitive advantage in their industry, because he stresses that the internet is changing the way industries operate anyway, so you can either choose to innovate and adopt it, or have it forced upon you unwillingly.   Do not think of the internet in a technical aspect, but rather in a strategic sense as to how your business fundamentally operates. A lack of technical knowledge can actually be a bonus in this case, because your thought is not limited by what is or is not possible.   So how does a business owner apply internet thinking to their own situation? Start from the industry that you are in, and think about what the fundamental drivers of value are. Question the assumptions that are currently being made in your industry. See if there is some way that you can change the cost base of your industry, often this is a case of a direct to consumer model which many industries are adopting. It cuts out many layers of cost and is ultimately better for the consumer.   Sign Up To A Mega Account Sign up to a Mega account and you get a hugely generous 50GB of storage space free. There will soon be features on par with Dropbox, so it is well worth getting an account. I use Mega myself as storage for my raw video files, which obviously take up far more space than documents.     Subscribe To The Digital Age On iTunes By Clicking Here
