I've gotten a few emails about the standard international converter not fitting on a Pelikan Pelikano Jr., Pelikano, and Script. I wanted to make this video to show that yes, they do fit.
This has been one of the most requested videos for me to do, so....here it is! Filling a Pilot Vanishing Point isn't hard once you understand how the pen works. It's quite different than most other fountain pens, so it does take a bit of studying and practice. Once you get the hang of it though, it's as simple as any other fountain pen.
There are a lot of different Pilot Vanishing Point pens, and I thought it would help to talk about them all in a video. These are very clever pens, one of the only retractable fountain pens on the market. They have a lot of beautiful colors, so I thought I'd show them off.
It's been a very long wait, but the new Rhodia notepads have finally arrived. We first heard about them in December of last year, and they were delayed until now. These include Rhodia 'R' Premium Tablets, Rhodia Unlimiteds, and new padholder sizes.
We had the opportunity to see the latest Edison pen, the Collier, this past weekend while we were at the DC Pen Show. We used the opportunity to snag Brian Gray and record a quick peek at the new pen in the 3 colors, and see how they compare to the Edison Nouveau Premiere and Edison Hudson. And at the end of the video, that noise is a guy getting out of his chair, I swear! It's pretty funny to see Brian Gray's reaction though.
Online is a brand out of Germany that most people have never heard of. They only have a few inks, one of which is Online Smaragd (Emerald), a name you likely won't forget. It's a nice green color, with it's most notable feature being it's amazing shading.
Noodler's Blue is one of my favorite colors, I can't deny it. Since I loaded it up in my Pilot Custom 74, I have just been refilling and refilling it! I am a serial ink sampler as well, so any ink that makes me want to load it back up in the same pen time after time is something special.
Since we recently received the Kaweco pens in extra-fine, fine, medium, and broad nib sizes, I thought it might be helpful to do a comparison writing sample.
Nathan Tardif is at it again, creating his third ink in the Black Swan series. This ink is a teal blue color, with a halo of sky blue. Nathan designed this ink to have an increased amount of halo compared to the other inks, and he has most certainly achieved it.
This ink is more commonly referred to as Noodler's Bulletproof Black, but the official name is simply Noodler's Black. What can I say, it's arguably the single most popular ink in the US (Heart of Darkness may be a close second). It's not without reason, it's a well-performing ink, behaves great on cheap paper, it's cheap, it's very dark, and it's permanent. You really just can't go wrong.
Namiki Blue is a color that not a lot of people are familiar with, but it's a great color! A nice, dark, pure blue, and very water resistant.
I've always had my eye on the Lamy Dialog 3, it's a very intriguing pen! It's one of the few fountain pens out there with a retractable nib, which makes it quite practical for business use.
With nearly 400 fountain pen inks at my disposal, I plan to do a lot of ink reviews! I nailed down a basic format for doing them all, so here it is.
I put together this basic overview of the 5 different models of Taccia pens I sell: Overture, Merit, Nightlife, Premier, and Palatial Pearl. Here's my impressions of each pen.
The best thing about Kaweco pens is the ability to easily convert them to eyedropper-fill pens, meaning you fill the whole body of the pen with ink. Here's how you do it.
