 Security 21 – You’ve Gotten a Telegram | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:42

We talk about a follow up topic from last week, regarding WhatsApp, and the user migration away from the newly purchased company. As it turns out everyone is afraid that Facebook may choose to spy on the data or messages being sent. Everyone moved to a new service Telegram, but of course we want to talk about the security. We spend the episode talking about Telegram's security practices, and if it is really as secure as they say. Show Notes: Telegram Unhandled Expression Moxie Marlinspike Security Now 444

 Security 20 – Goto Fails Us Again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 28:57

We talk about what everyone in the tech universe is talking about. What is this Apple iOS bug that is causing all this panic? Well Tom breaks it down for us. It is still cause for concern, and everyone with an apple product should be looking to update as soon as possible Show Notes Imperial Violet | https://www.imperialviolet.org/2014/02/22/applebug.html GotoFail.com

 inThirty 130 – What is Netflix Doing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:57

We tackle a hot news item that none of us have any business in discussing.  Is Netflix paying Comcast a net neutrality issue or not.  Chaim, who has read the most says no, but he has trouble explaining it to Justin who thinks it is.  Paul just wants his content, and probably represent the majority of Americans who don't really care.  inThirty 129 – Whats App Again | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:33

Nothing special here, just talking once again about WhatsApp, a scrappy little startup that just sold for 19 Billion, with a B, to Facebook.  What does that mean for the rest of us.  Will we have to figure out another way to communicate, or will it coexist with Facebook. Show Notes: Four Numbers That Explained Why Facebook Acquired WhatsApp

 Security 26 – Privacy (In Schools) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:51

In what turned out to be a really dry topic, we did our best to discuss what should be done about privacy. Chaim found an article about school privacy, and we discussed the best way schools or corporations should focus on implementing new technologies. In short, things need to be really vetted. You can't sign up for something, or worse let your children sign up for something until you know for sure they have the best interest of the consumer in mind. Show Notes: HPPSA | How Should We Balance Technology and Student Privacy

 inThirty 167 – Back to the PC | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 30:09

Recently, Chaim has seen a lot of people not talk too much about the iPad. Looking around, there is an idea going around that tablets are dead. We discuss. We think they may be going down in sales, but they are in no way dead. Listen, have fun, enjoy.

 Security 19 – Kickstarter Says Sorry | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 27:57

The title is a little exaggerated, but hey, I needed a title. We wanted to talk about how worried you should be when your password gets leaked, and of course, Kickstarter was right there. We applauded them for their blog post, how they handled it, and their encryption methods used. We jeered at the fact that law enforcement had alert them. We go through a hashing algorithm, rainbow tables, and bcrypt. Show Notes: Kickstarter | https://www.kickstarter.com/blog/important-kickstarter-security-notice

Security 18 – The Day We Fight Back | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 26:39

On Tuesday, February 18, the internet decided to fight back. Well not really, but it was a large scale protest to protest mass surveillance. Unlike SOPA and PIPA, the goal was to bring to the forefront the problems with government spying. Well how did we do? Tom and I discuss the numbers, and what this means on both a macro and micro scale. Show Notes: The Day We Fight Back
